Wii Warm Up: The gift of gaming
With the holiday season fast approaching, our minds have wandered to the joy of receiving gifts and, more importantly, giving them. We then thought about the gaming gifts we've bestowed upon friends and family in the past. What about you all? Have you given (or plan to give away) any gaming gifts recently? Are most of your friends and families hip to gaming, whether it be Wii or some other form, or do you do your part through charities like Child's Play? Let's all share some stories!

A friend of mine said he was going to get me Galaxy to save me from Sonic. I blankly said Unleashed was better, but I think he's going to ignore me and buy it anyway.
I'll probably get him Ghost Squad, then borrow it off him later - because people only really buy games they secretly want to play, right.

Also, my cousin wants Tales of ??? which currently doesn't have a release date over here.

I'm picking up Super Mario Cart for my nephew. Of course, I'm sure in a week or two he will be beating all of my times, but hey, it'll be nice to have a game that we could play online.

I got my in-laws Tetris Party because my wife wanted to play with them. I gifted the game to them the day after it came out. My wife has yet to play tetris party online with them. Kinda got me out of the game-gifting mood. :o(

In high school (way back when), I took up a collection for a friend's birthday. You see, he didn't know it at the time but he wanted a playstation. There was one used at the local video game store and after collecting money from all of his friends, we bought him one! he laughed and said "does this thing have tetris?" but he really did like it (super puzzle fighter 2 turbo).
I sent my parents Dr. Mario on the Wii - we've always been a gaming family... I remember, a long time ago, when my Dad came home from work with a copy of Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis. My brother and I were so excited (and so was my Dad).
We bought my Mom a used SNES for Mother's Day one year. She was very excited to play Dr. Mario.
This year since basically everyone in my family has a wii, and we're scattered coast to coast, some virtual console/wiiware gifts may be in order.

...I'm getting my cousin Mario Kart Wii and possibly (if I can find it) Wii Fit. She's been wanting those games.
And I'm thinking of getting a Wii for my family... you know, to put in the living room. :D ... my Wii's mine. I hate it when other people play it. :P
Other than that, not sure what other games to get for other people.

I never give gaming gifts, mostly because i have peculiar tastes, and wouldn't want to impose my strange ideas upon others
Though if i knew anyone with a PS3, i would shift LBP off on 'em
