Wii Warm Up: Made into a movie?

Yesterday's very awesome trailer for a Mega Man movie got us thinking. What game property would you like to see made into a film? Hollywood has tried to do it several times and pretty much failed through and through, but with what source material would you like them to try to make a competent film? A Legend of Zelda movie? Would you like to see F-Zero: The Movie? Well, out with it!

Whatever happened to that Metroid movie i heard being tossed about in the years after Prime resurrected the series?

Seconding the Metroid sentiment, though I'd LOVE for them to go realistic-CG with it, so they can keep Jennifer Hale as a voice and really go all-out on the inevitable Ridley battle. C'mon, FF:TSW showed us that realism is possible in CGI (at least in texturing), FFVIIAC showed us what crazy **** you can pull off in it (esp. with a non-real camera), and the Shrek guys'd said that they'd made Fiona look too real compared to the rest of the movie. I'm tired of seeing recognizable people playing as video game characters, and I'm tired of all pure-CG being cartoony. For once, blend the two into sheer awesome, and what better to do so with than Nintendo's most hardcore mainstay series (would've said "awesome", but interpretations might lead some to call out TLoZ, though I guess "hardcore" also carries assumptions; I mean it in the Duke Nukem sort of badassery type o' hardcore (or pr0n?)).

Absolutly agreed on the CG sentiment.
To go one further, look at what Pixar did with WALL-E. The scenes on Earth looked so real there were a few times I really did forget it was animated.

A CG Metroid movie would just be glorious. It would definately preventing it getting "hollywood-ized" which is the main reason most video game movies suck hard. They'd just need good voice acting and stick to the story (either the original, compress 1 2 and super into a single longer story, or the prime series)

Kingdom Hearts! I don't care what people say, I am a 24 year old man, and that game rocks my socks off. It would be an incredible movie, if done well. Also, a GOOD Mario movie would be fantastic, not that piece of junk with Bob Hoskins & John Leguizamos. Also, an Ultimate Alliance movie would just be.........mmmmmmmm.

i vote NO MORE HEROES, Hong Kong-style with Donnie Yen in the lead role. in the improved Hollywood remake, we'll go with Shie Lebouf or one of the Jonas brothers.

I'd punch babies for a good Zelda movie. Just give it to a respectable director, rather than one of the usual go-to hacks who make videogame movies.

they need to make that a movie, but definitely need better looking actors, at least for Link, Zelda and Gannon, I mean, come on, they all looked like shit...

A good Mario movie, that doesn't tarnish Ninty's image.
A Zelda movie would be great as well...

I think that the main reason that more game movies don't get made is that expectations are too high. But we just need a catalyst to set the stone in motion(like Spider-Man to the rebirth of Comic Book Movies)

I'd like to see the original Final Fantasy made into a movie, but in the style of Red vs Blue or 8 Bit Theater.
A real sense of humor and the community surrounding the franchise is the only way a truly great movie will be made out of a video game.

One of my greatest game-to-film adaptation dreams was realized when news about Oddworld: Citizen Siege came out a few years ago, but apparently the project has long since died, which is extremely disappointing.

Zelda is my number one choice, but the casting would be so hard. Metroid is more likely, but they need to go R with it. Not necessarily Hostel R, just R. I know that a lot of kids wouldn't be able to see it, but they would end up just getting it on DVD anyway.

I definitely agree with the Metroid movie. Having the great CG used in FFVII:AC along with some great voice actors would prove for an awesome movie. I don't see a Zelda movie being made because of the fact that Link never talks.
