A new Legacy of Ys translation
Atlus may have just given us another reason to buy the DS Legacy of Ys Books I & II instead of (or in addition to) just dropping $8 for the Virtual Console version: for the first time since that release, the games will have a new official translation. Given that Atlus does better localizations than most companies now, they are almost guaranteed to do a better job than circa-1990 NEC.In a press release, project lead Sam Mullen said "We're not taking this lightly, but we also see this as an opportunity to give the game a 21st-century localization, a new script to match the game's remade features."
We rather like the idea of carefully-considered text in the classic action RPG! Wander into our gallery for new screens of this new-ish game.

Nice, I love these games, but I played with english patches, wich of course aren't official, so it's nice to have an official translation for thee amazing rpg's, and even better, it seems that they're ports of the eternal complete version (for PC), wich have updated graphics, soundtrack and options.

I'm always a fan of putting two games on one cart.
30$ for one billion hours of gameplay is nice.

agreed. Atlus' localization rocks! and the fact that they are putting two games into one cart is even more awesome, I definitely very interested in this game right now =) I've never tried Ys, but I have always wanted to, so this will be the perfect introduction to the series!

Whoo! Always a fan of updating translations, no matter the game (though I agree that memory of the past is important to gaming culture, with "All you base" being the forerunner of that/a sector).
