The DS Life: Center of attention

Despite the aged look of this week's image, this photograph was actually taken quite recently, as evidenced by the DS Lite. The scene is a familiar one, especially at family get-togethers, when gangs of younger cousins, nephews, and nieces roam the house, desperate in their search for any entertainment. Join us past the post break for the full photo.

Three things we love about this shot:
- The fact that these children have some sort of "video game radar" -- or game-dar, if you will -- that allows them to detect the presence of a video game console and immediately flock around it.
- The kid half-hanging off of the sofa's back (mono-kid!), just so he can get a good view of the DS's screens.
- The Bart Simpson shirt.
- The clown hidden behind the couch, waiting for an opportunity to terrorize the children.

It took me a minute to spot the clown, but then I had to laugh.

Wow i got a picture that reminds me so much of this.
This is me in summer of 2007 at San Diego. I was playing some Mario Kart and they buzzed me like flies on honey.

Bozo still haunts my dreams, and Ronald taunts me with food he never eats.

I have a rule if its a handheld, sorry most times they cant watch as it drives me nuts to have them looking over my shoulder. Been the rule since the original Gameboy. But that's why i usually just bring my Wii and set it up in some side room and let them play with me or by themselves (supervised). Recently though the adults have been crowding them out on play time on the Wii, first console my Dad would actually play. Now on the other hand i used to get home from school and find the batteries dead in my Gameboy from my Mom playing Tetris for hours on end.
