Castlevania Judgment launch trailer is too effective

Warning: this trailer for Castlevania Judgment, out this week, may have the unexpected side effect of making you want to play Castlevania Judgment. Until now, we've been insulated by our Castlevania fandom -- we love Castlevania so much that it's painful to see it as an anime-style 3D brawler/fighter with silly character designs (Eric Lecarde doesn't just look like a little boy -- he is a little boy for some reason).

But between the top-notch CG and the surprisingly exciting gameplay, we fear that Konami has us under a spell. Oh, look, there's the castle. There's Alucard doing something badass. Oh, they're playing "Vampire Killer." There is officially no hope for us.

This game looks good! I think I'll pick this up instead of that miserable pile of a videogame, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of The World!

This looks...awesome? Sure, the gameplay could end up to be crap but it looks pretty damn cool. And aside from a couple characters, I don't mind the designs that much.

If there is an alternative to the waggle system I would be interested. After all the crap its received it really doesn't look that bad. Not as bad as MK meets DC anyway.

I'm pretty sure there was an IGN article detailing classic controller support, but the button mappings were a bit off. Either that, or it was in the Nintendo Voice Chat podcast.

It was really the music's fault. It rallied this into the realm of epic showdowns. Hm, Eric's voice is a bit annoying-snobbish-brat. Maria's... is that the same as in DXC:RoB (still needs a PSP)? Everyone falls victim to the "chu" bewtween "___t" and "you" *sigh*. Death sounds cool. Guess there's little hope that Sonia will be seen into the series proper (c'mon, it's not that hard to, and Trevor can deal with being second*). Do these extra costumes include something more traditional (classic and/or Kojima-style)? So hoping I win that Animal Crossing contest...

*Hm, is this a testament to his propensities or an ultimatum to Sonia inclusion?

I was on the fence about this game for a while. Since it decided to come out on my birthday, when my pocket is suddenly flush with birthday cash, I must have it.

If the gameplay is good I could see picking this up despite the dissapointment that the Wii's first Castlevania wasn't a side scroller, hopefully we'll see one on WiiWare. Of course, at 50$ it's probably not worth it when I have the tried and true Soul Calibur 2 on gamecube.

i wont say too much until a review, but it shows how much people will hate a game if it is something they did not want. people wanting a side scroller this whole time and drowning this title with venomous hate made everyone miss the fact that it looks really good, and that trailer made me go from not caring about the game to ZOMG! will highly consider getting this if the reviews are good !

that whole first part of the clip is borderline false advertising, considering the graphical power of other systems can actually pull that kind of stuff off in real time. not hating on the wii, just sayin. i don't know about anyone else, but i'd rather just see gameplay.
