Connect and play anytime, anywhere with FFCC Echoes of Time
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time has received a lot of attention for its bizarre cross-platform release: the same game will come out on the same day on both the DS and the Wii, and it will look the same. So, yes, by virtue of looking good for a DS game, it will be a not-that-great-looking Wii game. But the point is that it can be played anywhere.
And that's what this trailer gets across: any combination of DS players and Wii players, in any location with Internet access, can play Echoes of Time together. If you feel like blowing a bunch of money, you can play it on both systems.

As long as I can play with people not on my friends list.
......Stupid $%^&ing friends list!

I mean friend code, not friends list.

Considering Animal Crossing, playing a Wii game with DS credentials shouldn't be a problem

I'm still wondering, how come they could put better graphics on the Wii version and just show the equivalent graphics on each other.
Some time ago, some friend and me were working on a project to make an MMORPG.
We decided that we'd only be sending and receiving the next data
1.- Player position (x, y, z coordinates)
2.- Player model
3.- Player equipment
4.- Player Action (forgot to put this one over GoNintendo)
This way, we'd recieve the data, create the object and just render it on the display. I don't see how they can't do this here, just render the equivalent model and textures on the platform.
The bashing this game will recieve from WiiHaters, man, seems like SquareEnix want people to go to the 360/PS3 and leave the Wii alone to reduce game production cost

You're exactly right. There's not really any excuse to do it the way they're doing it.
You wouldn't even need to send the player model. Just their race and gender, and let the "client" decide which model that was.
Sadly, I think the reason is because it's cheaper to make a DS game and port it to Wii than to make completely new graphical assets for the Wii version. Another example of laziness from developers trying to make a quick buck instead of dedicate their efforts in making a quality game.

@ CJLopez
the gameplay sounds great thats for sure, but i have to agree with you. my friend just told me the exact same thing (and to be quite honest i was wondering if that was AT ALL possible to begin with). the TRASHING WiiHaters will give this game is IMMEASURABLE!! i'm sure it'll be great game to me (and tons of other people who prefer gameplay over graphics) but against the 360 FANBOYS AND PS3FANBOYS this game DOES NOT STAND A CHANCE IN HELL!! but either ways I will still play and enjoy this game (i just know it in my heart) because for me it's game play over graphics.

I want FFCC the Crystal Bearers back, it looked way much better than this.
