Dragon Quest IV chosen as Deal of the Day
Amazon is allowing us to bypass the infamous Square Enix Tax for one day, and pick up a fantastic RPG remake at the kind of prices normally reserved for wholesale merchants like Torneko Taloon. The game, of course, is Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, and the price is a powerfully tempting $19.98. If you've wanted to try the beloved series, but feared the investment would be too much for an RPG that turned out to be too old-school, now is your chance. It might be worth $20 just to look at, and then kill, a bunch of adorable slimes!

DQIV is old school, but in the best possible way. It's not about ridiculous level grinding (which is odd, considering it's a DQ game......), and there is a fantastic story, a fantastic world to explore, and...er...fantastic treasures to uncover.
BUY THIS GAME.

I was going to say something, but that pretty much nailed it. It's the single best RPG on the system as far as I'm concerned.

At that price, I just had to take the plunge. I absolutely love the way it looks and it has nothing but rave reviews from JRPG lovers, so I'm confident that this is a good buy.

Wow. That's awesome. Square Enix totally sucks for making people pay upwards $35-40 for a PORTABLE game! Dude! You mean to tell me that Square's trying to charge people 2/3 the price of a regular console game (which retail at $60)?!?!? They're idiots. Just because there's a lot of FF fans that'll take those kinds of plunges, there are smart shoppers like myself and others that find that type of business and thinking to be quite ridiculous. I may take Amazon up on that offer as I've never played DQ game other than Rocket Slime (which isn't an RPG).

Totally snapped that up, along with the uncut version of Return of the Joker to qualify for Super Saver Shipping. Damn, I love Amazon. Almost preordered CHRONO TRIGGER from GameStop, but after looking at the extra fees (shipping and tax), I checked the ofikal site and, lo and behold, Amazon had the CD bonus, too (didn't scroll down enough to see so). So, Amazon's set to get even more money from me, both when CT ships and whenever I can put more money in to actually have it ship *nervous laugh*. Ah, SE and Amazon: it's a beautiful thing. Just... don't go putting FFIV and TWEwY as a DotD anytime soon, or it'll break my heart.

WOW!
That's too good to pass up! I mean, I was all set to wait until the game naturally made it down to $20 in a year or two and then pick it up, but now I've got no reason to wait.
*looks at existing backlog of more than a dozen other games* uhm... yep.... no reason to wait...whatsoever...
*CLICK!* oops... guess Golden Sun is dropping a little lower on that backlog list now...
=]
Besides, I was going to pre-order the Wall*E DVD, so now I gets free shippings.

Oh man, THANK YOU for pointing this out. So bought.
I would be kicking myself hard if I'd missed this.
