No More Heroes 2 localization may be Ubisoft's struggle
No More Heroes was without a publisher in the US until Ubisoft picked it up, since Japanese publisher Marvelous Entertainment didn't have an American branch at the time. Since then, they've made a multi-game agreement with XSEED, and thus we assumed that company would handle the distribution of No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle when that title is released stateside in early 2010.
According to secret sources in contact with IGN, the Marvelous/XSEED partnership may not extend to Desperate Struggle after all -- Ubisoft is "in negotiations" to distribute the new game. It doesn't actually matter who localizes the game in terms of content, if the new game's anything like the original, whose voice work was already in English. But Ubisoft is probably capable of getting more copies into more stores, so we approve of this potential arrangement.

Hopefully they dont screw us on the Manual this time, Japan got a sweet full color comic style manual, we got a boring black and white manual. :( Well at least we got the blood.

Hopefully they don't screw us on the game this time. Maybe we can have some compelling gameplay beyond a few boss battles that only a fraction of which seem interesting when compared to the monotony of the rest of the experience: I can no longer call lawnmowing and gas pumping quick time events gameplay.
I'm hoping that Ubi does some quality control this time, as the original really should've been a $15 budget title.

lol
You just hoped Ubisoft does quality control

$15 game, Please, the game deserves much more than that. Sure it had its flaws, in between ranked fights can get monotonous but it was a new and interesting game with a great story and has been the most fun ive had on the Wii ever (and yes i own Galaxy, Zelda, and Metroid), Hopefully Ubi doesnt touch anything on the game and lets Grasshopper and Suda51 do what they do best, make a great game.

Damn them, riding off someone else's success while you pile my platforms of choice with crap

I want to make sure that this game is coming to the US. It definitely is, right? I'd probably be in a sad state if it didn't ;_;...

In fact, there are no solid plans for a Japanese release at this point. :P This game is being developed for the western audience that actually bought No More Heroes 1. This game has a stronger chance of coming out in North America than anywhere else.

Yay :D!

I can't wait for this game's soundtrack! (Oh and the game should rock as well)

also, i love NMH trolls, who are very very negative for some reason, but these people never seem to show up in threads about much worse games. Maybe they are trying to balance out the fandom that NMH has.

I'm a little disappointed.
I've got some high hopes for XSEED and several of their games look like they could be instant hits with the 'core' crowd. No More Heroes 2 would be a fantastic addition to their already amazing line up on the Wii and it could be a big push forward for the company as a whole.
Ubisoft, on the other hand, hasn't given me any more than NMH with a butchered instruction manual and a massive amount of absolute trash, burned onto DVD, and sold in a Wii box.

Just as long as the game makes it over to the US, I'm fine.
I bought No More Heroes on the release date, hoping for a masterpiece. I payed the starting price of $50 for it, and...
It was probably one of the best investments I've made for my Wii. I will DEFINITELY buy No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle on the date of release.
No More Heroes is probably my favorite game on the Wii, and I hope that the sequel delivers as much or more than the first one did.
