Mad Catz secures Rock Band Wii peripheral exclusivity
Mad Catz, the peripheral manufacturer, has gone into a multi-year agreement to create peripherals for the Wii installments in the Rock Band franchise. The exclusive rights to manufacturer and distribute extend to all regions, except for Asia, and will allow them to produce the bass guitar and portable drum set. "Together we will provide Rock Band fans the opportunity to enhance their gameplay with Mad Catz' premium instruments for Nintendo's extremely popular Wii system," said president and CEO of Mad Catz, Darren Richardson. This multi-year agreement will start in early 2009.

All of the MadCatz gear I've ever bought ever has sucked, and it has sucked hard. Sticky buttons, unresponsive buttons, plain just not working, you name it. I've vowed never to buy MC gear ever again.
Oh well, I'm more of a Guitar Hero person anyway.

And suddenly, nobody wanted to play Rockband anymore.

does that mean we won't see GT:WT to RB drum and guitar compatibility?

And thus, Covarr decided to get the PS3 version instead.
Not as if I'd have gotten it on Wii anyway. I mostly save my Wii for first party exclusives, such as Mario and Smash Bros, the gold that allows me to overlook games like Anubis II.
