Cursed Mountain devs considering MotionPlus
According to N-Europe, who found this in an NGamer magazine (we'd call something this abstracted a rumor if it weren't already hypothetical), Deep Silver may seek to augment the controls for their unique survival horror game Cursed Mountain with MotionPlus.
The article describes the motion-based controls in the "prayer gestures" used in the nonviolent combat in a bit more detail. Apparently, "prayer scrolls" will be used along with motion-controlled ritual simulations to banish ghosts from the earth. In addition, players will use motions to climb walls with an icepick, suggesting more context-sensitive motion controls that would probably benefit from MotionPlus.
With any luck, then, our controllers will register with near-perfect accuracy the shaking of our fists as we curse a mountain.

The more i hear the more i like. Something with strong Buddhist overtones? Prayer rituals, exorcism?
Sounds a bit like Fatal Frame, one of the few horror games i enjoy.

Why would companies not want to implement MotionPlus, as long as those who didn't have it could still play?

there's no point in forcing motion plus onto everything, otherwise it will make the product too expensive, and making it optional would surely increase the dev time would it not? anyway i think this is such a gamble of a game, nonviolent combat is hard to do, and harder to get the masses to enjoy

this game+MotionPlus= PURE AWESOMENESS
this game will be excellent should they utilize the MotionPlus. companies should REALLY consider using MotionPlus for upcoming games.

not actually. if done right then the company can benefit from it 10 fold. plus unless it's an SRPG then a game on the Wii without motion (or MotionPlus for that matter) controls wouldn't benefit much at all. if your going to make a game without motion controls then your best bet is to develop it specifically for the 360 or PS3.

Nonviolent combat? Could someone explain how that works?
