Quantum of Solace video may cheer you up
As most of you have probably noticed, the Wii is inching toward living up to one of the great potentials of its controller: its usefulness for shooting at things! But what you may not have expected is the fact that a Bond game is looking pretty sweet. That hasn't happened too often since GoldenEye 007 set its amazing standard back in 1997.
One European Wii owner decided to perform a great service for all the world (or, uh, those who might buy Quantum of Solace), and the result is the above video, featuring (almost) ten minutes of footage from the game, that you may study it closely. Bless YouTube and all its users.

I just might have to pick this one up...

If I only had a Wii I would probably pick this up. But the PC demo was pretty disappointing and there are too many other good shooters this winter.

Looks a bit unpolished (understandable), but it looks like it has potential. I realize that this demo is supposed to show off the action, but one thing I was looking for that I didn't see in the Vid, is the need to be stealthy. That was a reason for some of the most tense and fun moments of Goldeneye. I hope this game has that.

Randy...trust me, I've seen a bunch of other videos and followed the progress of this game and there will 100% be the stealthy gameplay that you crave. All signs point to this being the second coming of GoldenEye 007. Take a look at what I mean at http://www.universalexports.net/Movies/quantumofsolace-videogame.shtml
Unrelatedly, I hope I can use my Zelda zapper.

wk93 @ Oct 30th 2008 11:22AM
The conduit will probably be much better. i got quantum of solace today and its okay but there is a lot of frame rate drops and is very un-polished

Are those..... *GASP* lighting effects???
El Ché @ Nov 1st 2008 9:32PM
I still think that The Conduit looks better however.
himanshu @ Nov 6th 2008 1:26AM
This is a crash-bang Bond, high on action. It doesn't disappoint - just don't expect the brilliance of Casino Royale. it's only Craig's performance along with the shifting morality of Bond's legion of enemies that forces the audience to root for him. Check this link dude!

Reading all of these comments, I can't really decide if it was all the pre-release hype that got people thinking--and hoping--that this Bond game for the Wii would be the second coming of Goldeneye. However, now that there has been some time since it's release, it should be very clear that this is one of the WORST FPS since Red Steel.
Yes, it's that bad. And although there were remarks that this may be *better* than Conduit--dear God, I sure hope not. In fact, can I be so brave as to say that Red Steel was better than this absurd excuse for a game.
Problems? Plenty. Framerate. HORRIBLE controls without the ability to tweak. And the Zapper support is ABYSMAL.
The game is broken. Plain and simple. I haven't been this disappointed since purchasing NCAA for the Wii.
Bottom Line: Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
