Atlus teases new 'Devil Survivor' game
The latest issue of Famitsu features this two-page ad from Atlus, revealing the title of a new DS game: Devil Survivor. We can kind of see the kanji for megami next to it, which is obviously used in the company's Shin Megami Tensei titles. NeoGAFfer duckroll identifies the tiny kanji string as Megami Ibunroku, which was used in the name of the first Persona game. So there's a faint chance it could be somehow Persona-related, but with the Persona series now pretty big, we'd imagine Atlus would actually use the Persona name on a DS spinoff.
According to the ad, more information will be available on November 7.

What are the odds of this getting to North America, though?
I'm still bloody waiting on the PSP Devil Summoner game to be released in English. No such luck.

I think the odds are fairly good, which is something coming from me considering how pessimistic I am about games getting localized. The Shin Megami Tensei series has emerged from cult following to steady, surprisingly-sizable fanbase outside of Japan since the release of Persona 3.
FES had higher sales than one should have ever hoped to see from a "niche" title, Persona 4 seems to have strong pre-order numbers so far (thanks in part to the sweet artbook bonus at Amazon + GameStop), and even the less-mentioned games like SMT Devil Summoner have seen placement in stores that don't even specialize in games--I've seen it for sale at Wal-Mart and Meijer, for instance. SMT Nocturne even got a small reprint, albeit an unappealing $60 one.
I'm a relative noob to SMT, having only played Persona 3 and Devil Summoner, but I know enough about the history of the series in not-Japan to know that it's more popular now than it was just a few years ago. Because Devil Survivor has the luxury of coming out on a handheld that isn't on life support, and considering how robust Atlus USA's support for the DS has been (well, I suppose that statement is contingent on how much someone's liked what they've brought over. There have been a few bad decisions on their part), I think that Devil Survivor is in a great position to see localization.
That said, SMT-related anything + DS = buybuybuybuybuybuybuyBUYBUYBUSDKFLJ
