Animal Crossing/WiiSpeak bundle box revealed, price worries continue

A Portuguese Nintendo fansite happened to notice the appearance on Amazon of the Animal Crossing: City Folk/WiiSpeak microphone bundle. Only just now after looking at it have we realized what Nintendo has done here: they've guaranteed City Folk's bestseller status by making it yet another first-party Wii game with a bundled peripheral. It now joins Wii Play, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Fit. People really love big boxes!

Amazon's price for the bundle is a cause for concern. Either they never bothered to update to the $59.99 price or the price is back up to $69.99. We'd like to make an official announcement at this time: Wii Fanboy endorses the lower price this November. We think it's the right decision for this county.

It sells separately for $30. In fact, originally it was never even going to be bundled with any game, but Nintendo changed their mind and decided to release a limited time AC bundle.

Where is it being sold for 30 dollars? Everywhere i go shows 50. (amoazon, gamestop, walmart)

I have never played Animal Crossing. I have not decide to buy City Folk yet, but the bundle option might sway my decision to buy it. I woud feel kind of stupid (at 40 years of age) buying this game.

Isn't the average age of a video gamer somewhere around 35 years old?

Why is playing games at 40 such an issue?

Purchasing videogames doesn't make me feel foolish, but trying to get my other forty-something friends to play kinda does...

"Hey, I just got Mario Kart! Wanna play?"

"What's Mario Kart?"

"It's a videogame."

Animal Crossing isnt a game for just children. Im 30 and i enjoy the game. Its a nice game to pick up and play. I wouldnt feel stupid at all buying this game.

And to TWOO DEE, video games can be played by all ages. There is nothing wrong with older people (30+) playing video games.

my bad, that wasn't even my point, though. i just get irked by people who seem to be embarrassed about the choices they make - own up to it! god forbid someone sees you having fun...

my brother is 31 and i'm 24 and we've been playing videogames together since the SNES days and i truly, TRULY hope we can continue to do so for the next 50+ years

No offense taken Twoo dee, I started gaming when Space invaders came out (not the console game, but the arcade version). I have loved gaming ever since. I have a life outside gaming ( good job, wife, kids etc... ) but I never "grew up" when it came to video games. I use it as an outlet for relaxing.. much like some people do with TV or other hobbies.
The reason that I feel a bit embarrased to buy this is because it looks kind of kiddie (but it hassparked my interest).

Redster, Animal Crossing is actually a game better suited to adults than children. The game is tailor made for grown-ups who's life is so maxed out with responsibility that they just want to chill out, go fishing, write a few letters, and basically take a vacation.

If the game was just called "Vacation in the Woods", I think a lot more people would understand it's appeal.

Huh. I might get this. I dunno. Would I use it? Is WiiSpeak available seperately without AC so I can get the game first and WiiSpeak later if I want it?

While the game is tempting, I probably won't be getting this. I have Animal Crossing (GCN) and Animal Crossing: Wild World and have found the experience to be much more enjoyable on a handheld, when I can play anytime or play while also watching TV. I'm not sure that I could make the jump back to a console version.

I am looking forward to picking up Wii Speak though.

I really hope it's $59.99 too. But, also note that the bundle's page on Amazon says Out of Stock whereas both ACCF and WiiSpeak separately are both up for Pre-Order. Hopefully they put the page up quick and need to change some details.
(Maybe someone should e-mail Nintendo about the official price?)
