E3 tries to make a comeback in 2009
E3 2009 will take place June 2-4 next year, at the LA Convention Center. It won't be open to the public or anything, but the list of people who can attend will be less restrictive than the previous two years, says the ESA. They'll be opening the doors to all "international and US-based media, analysts, retailers, developers and business partners." So, attendance will increase and this move should hopefully help E3 get back to what it used to be: loud, smelly, and oh-so-fun!
And while we're on the subject, be sure to check out Joystiq's interview with ESA president and CEO Mike Gallagher right here.

lol. The spelling was a nice touch.

Was E3 so terrible for you that it affected your spelling?
I would hope Nintendo doesn't care about reak gamers, because they smell really bad. If anything, Nintendo should make a shower game so they don't reak anymore.

Hopefully no more debacles. I do enjoy the spectacle, though.

/kill casual E3
what "casual" player pays attention to E3, anyway?

E3 presentations the past few years have been weaker because E3 itself was weaker. It was no longer THE game trade show of the year - other events became more significant. Nintendo itself even admitted it. It's why Nintendo held its own conference this fall. Ubisoft and other companies have held their own events as well
Now that E3 is attempting to return to its former glory, hopefully the conferences will do so as well.

Ummm.... nintendo has held conferences like that for a while now, it was not a reaction to the scaling down of E3.
Sonic_13 @ Oct 23rd 2008 3:11AM
It is and it isn't. Nintendo has had conferences like this past one before. In fact they just had one in April. But they were never really the place for announcing huge new things, especially in the quantity that was seen at this past media summit.
