Harmonix: Your Guitar Hero III guitar will work with Rock Band 2

Posting on the Harmonix boards, one of the developers confirmed that the guitar used in Guitar Hero III for the Wii will be fully compatible with Rock Band 2. So, for those of you who prefer rocking out with a wireless plastic axe, as opposed to the one that comes with the full Rock Band bundle, you're in luck.
No word has been said about Guitar Hero World Tour's guitar and Rock Band 2, but seeing as how Harmonix wants to "encourage the interoperability of instruments between platforms," we're thinking it just might be.

If all the instruments of world tour (which I already pre-ordered) will work, then I just might forgive Rock Band enough to pick up just the game version.

No, because World Tour uses a new guitar, I'm pretty sure they meant Guitar in that sentence.

awesome! means third party gear (for Guitar Hero III) might also work too...(and most of that stuff is cheap!!)

If the GH:WT drums work with RB, I might have to go that way, otherwise, I'll probably just get RB2 after it drops in price 6 months down the road.

Wow. That's totally game changing for me. I was planning to get GH:WT solely on the fact that RB2 was _not_ compatible with my current GHIII guitar. Now I'll actually have to take a close look at RB2 and decide which is better. B^(
