Wii Warm Up: The Conduit between High Voltage and stores

It's also someone whose name is big enough that spending months holding out in anticipation of a dramatic reveal makes sense. At this point, does anyone here think it's someone other than Nintendo? If so, who and why?

EA or Ubisoft. Doubt it would be anyone else.
samfish @ Oct 15th 2008 9:33AM
I REALLY hope it's not Ubisoft. They would probably try to drown the game intentionally.
Seriously, though, whoever DOES pick this game up had better give it a substantial marketing push. Nearly all the work and budget was done on HVS's time and dime, thus it's just money in the bank for the publisher, since they made no investment.
The LEAST they can do is give it a huge push.

If i had to guess I'd say EA. Although I suppose it could be Ubisoft, but I'd put my money on EA.
8-bit.artist @ Oct 15th 2008 8:54AM
i hope its EA. that means no friend codes and good online.
flameofdoom666 @ Oct 15th 2008 9:11AM
I hope Nintendo is their publisher. It will make the first-party fan boys get the game, which is a good thing.
Sonic_13 @ Oct 15th 2008 9:15AM
I don't feel like it is Nintendo (but would be happy if it was). I would guess Ubisoft.
Regardless of who it is, online is going to be good.
samfish @ Oct 15th 2008 9:31AM
Nintendo? Pay money for voice acting?? From REAL actors?!
Ha ha! AHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
Oh, JC, you kill me sometimes...
meist3r @ Oct 15th 2008 9:39AM
Hey, Listen! ...
meist3r @ Oct 15th 2008 9:39AM
Might even be THQ, they've done a few good game releases, de Blob was pretty good and they need a good franchise fast.
guttertalk @ Oct 15th 2008 9:56AM
To a certain, I don't know that it matters: it seems that High Voltage could be one of those dev teams that wields enough power through not just a very hyped game but a game engine, which means potentially a lot more revenue as it is licensed for other Wii games.
If it were Nintendo, why wouldn't they have announced it at their recent conference? I mean, if they're trying to get back in good with the 'core' gamers, what would have a much bigger announcement? (And, no, Icarus wouldn't have been . . . . :)
But there's the stronger point that HV said in SEPTEMBER that the game will support both Wiispeak and Motion-Plus.
I'm just not understanding what a publisher would gain by delaying the announcement, mainly because I think of publishers who, like a prima donna, can't hear other people talk about them enough. I guess to that point, Nintendo has had so much pub, they could afford to lay low.
Timptation @ Oct 15th 2008 9:59AM
Nintendo wouldn't pay for Hollywood voice acting. It's not them. This is an EA/Ubisoft/maybe Activision or THQ move. Also, its important to remember that HVS was paying for this themselves, and may have already intended to do something like this before getting a publisher to go along with it. Whoever it is, I thank you.
josh @ Oct 15th 2008 11:46AM
Honestly it doesnt matter WHO aslong as HV & them can get this engine out to all game makers to use
Andrew @ Oct 15th 2008 12:56PM
Nintendo already announced they were publishing this at their media summit in October.
JC Fletcher @ Oct 15th 2008 1:16PM
No, they didn't. Cammie Dunaway said "first-party shooter" when she meant "first-person shooter."
Alex @ Oct 15th 2008 1:38PM
ima take a wild guess at capcom just cuz
TheOverlord#2 @ Oct 15th 2008 3:04PM
Let's all hope it's EA. The only bad thing about MoH H2's online is there is no voice chat and the ranking system.(or it could be I just suck at the game with my -1000 or so score(though I've killed more than 1000))
And other than that all the publisher needs to do is market and (obviously) publish the game because HVS has the gameplay/graphics covered.
TheOverlord#2 @ Oct 15th 2008 7:12PM
EDIT: My score is -842! :P
leonus11 @ Oct 15th 2008 4:55PM
i'd would HOPE that ninty publishes it, but that doesn't seem likely so i'd have to go with EA. that way i wouldn't have to worry about the online play being slow or laggy. UBISOFT? maybe. if they stop with the shovelware then i'd consider UBISOFT......maybe.
wiiluver135 @ Oct 15th 2008 7:22PM
I think it'll be either Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, THQ, Bungie (lulz J/K :p ) or (god forbid) Sega...I don't hate Sega's "shoot'em ups", I just can't see them publishing this game, even with there HotD series
RatMasterD21 @ Oct 16th 2008 1:30AM
nintendo might be in...HV said that are using friend codes something they never wanted to do...as for the voice acting it could be that they gave HV a huge amout of money to do with what they please.
Dash @ Oct 17th 2008 12:29PM
Evidence that is Nintendo: the game uses Wii-speak, which is really new (only other game I know uses it is Animal Crossing).
Evidence that is not Nintendo: Actors and the fact that they didn't told (Nintendo tried to be "hardcore" at TGS, announcing this would be a good move).
Evidence that I'm crazy: it's VALVE. No wait, it's Microsoft. And the next announcement will be Halo DS and a Bungie Wii game.
