Let's have fun with Let's Tap
What's really striking about Let's Tap, though, is that it seems to capture the anything-goes, nontraditional spirit of the Wii -- remember that? the promise of new and breathtaking vistas? -- in a way that software like Wii Fit cannot. You put the Wii remote on a box. Then you do the same thing you do anytime you're stuck waiting at a light, or standing by a file cabinet: you drum out rhythms with your fingertips and this translates to the screen. It's simple, wacky, brilliant, and we wish it was being released tomorrow.
Sadly, we may be alone in this.

No, I'm interested in this. Well, with Naka's name attached I'll at least give it a go.

WiiFanboy should start up the hype train for Let's Tap.The music is great, and that rhythm sequence looked suspiciously like Taiko Drum Master, so if that doesn't make it here I'll be happy with Let's Tap's soundtrack.

Naka has gone quite mad
But the results are good. Yeah, it's another mini-game collection, but it seems to have more style than most, not to mention the unique gimmick.

The box is the best peripheral out there! Kudos SEGA and Naka for such creating such a unique game though.

Slightly unrelated ... but listening to Japanese people speak always makes me curious what it's about, it sounds so ... odd? to Westerners. Could be just me, but I'd love to learn it properly sometime.

This is a genius work. I have no idea why the hell people are calling these kinda controls "gimmicky". I bought a Wii because I wanted to be able to play in new ways like this. I'm glad the bloggers here agree.
And I hope I'm not sounding fanboyish... It's just that new ideas like these are what Wii is lacking right now - with it's controllers only being used the obvious ways most of the time.

If videogame adverts are to be believed, dads are awful at videogames.

1. Too bad noone will have the balls to release this stateside.
2. Look at the girl's safety strap closely. It moves from inside the rubber sleeve to outside of it.?
3. They should have made the box look like Snake's.

Have you people gone insane?! It looks utterly derivative. Standard Wii minigame compilation (with incessant, annoying shaking replaced with incessant, annoying tapping) coupled with standard Wii commercial of nauseatingly twee, fake family pretending to have "fun" together.... They're just tapping! Endless f@cking tapping!!! It looks f@cking awful. I'm sorry, but Jesus Christ, don't be fooled by this garbage. It's no better than the likes of Sports Party and Big Beach Sports. A man as talented as Yuji Naka probably shitted this out in a spare afternoon. Though I admit that that is actually a pretty long development time for a third-party Wii game.
