New Wii Channel in the works?
This one is a bit odd.
IGN recently published a kind of "What if?" story about connecting the DS and Wii versions of Guitar Hero together, to form some kind of Voltron-like super game. That's all well and good and we'll be the first to say that daydreaming is fun, but there was something curious tucked away within the three pages there.
"With a Wii channel already in the works that would output DS's audio from your TV speakers, it would be an impressive next step to sync the DS game with Wii, and use Guitar Hero Wii to truly interact with the pocket version." Wait a minute, there's a Channel in the works to output your DS's audio from your TV speakers? This is the first we've heard of anything like this (only the Speaker Channel comes to mind, but that's specifically for Band Brothers DX, so it doesn't fit).
What do you guys think? Error on IGN's part, or did they let something slip?
[Thanks, Sonic_13!]

They probably were referring to the band bros channel.

This really has nothing to do with the article, but those following Castlevania Judgment might be interested to know that the Japanese website has updated character art for Shanoa as well as a cool CG trailer followed by gameplay video showing off all of the revealed characters in action (including Aeon, Death, Eric Lecarde, and Shanoa). Check it out at the following address.

Ahem, as I forgot to mention, in my first post, I know that the new DS Castlevania has Wii connectivity with Castlevania Judgment. I wonder if it has something to do with the new character Shanoa? Hmm. . .

Yup, probably the Band Bros thing.
That said, I would love love love a channel that transmits the DS game signals to your TV screen. It would be nice to be able to play something like NSMB on a nice, big screen.

A wii channel that makes the ds send stuff? How would that work o.0
Maybe a "channel" on the DSi...

It does sound like the 'Daigasso! Band Brothers DX Speaker Channel', which performs the same functionality, but why then would they say "With a Wii channel already in the works..."
That would suggest a channel that is currently being developed, not one that has been out for a year.
Maybe IGN can clarify this for us.

Maybe they will broaden the use of the Band Bros channel to include more DS rhythm games. Electroplankton, Tengoku Gold, Guitar Hero, EBA/Ouendan
Lots of possibilities.

Isn't the DSi able to store music.. so I'm presuming that means the Wii would play the music also?

I think a new channel for me will have to be a homebrew. I'm not one to touch my precision Wii but I've been sitting patiently for Fatal Frame and with not word of a proper rls date I think it's time I get the importing on. NOA gets screwed hardcore, my only fear is language barrier >.< yikes, who knows... damn you Nintendo, bring the game overseas! *shakes fist*
ChaoticTails @ Oct 11th 2008 2:22PM
It's the Band Brothers DX Channel.
