Tetris Party gets physical

Tetris Party is out soon, which means we get to dust off our Balance Boards and play Tetris the way Tetris was always supposed to be played: by leaning and squatting. Tetris Party producer and cool hat-wearer Tony Tran has generously demoed the Balance Board mode, which looks straightforward enough: you lean to steer your tetrominoes across the screen, and squat to rotate them. The playing field is drastically reduced to allow for the imprecision of balance-based controls.
It looks quite fun, though this video did miss one thing: footage of Tony playing this mother on level 20. We suspect our own knees, weakened by a lack of exercise due to a life spent blogging, would struggle to get beyond level 5 with all that squatting.

I am really looking forward to Tetris Party. I love Tetris. Tetris DS was one of my favorite DS games. 18 modes, online play, Balance Board support...there's something for everyone.
Unfortunately there are just too many good WiiWare games out/coming out that I want to get. World of Good, right now, is a the top of my list, followed by Tetris Party, MegaMan9, and Dr. Mario. I'm going to have to get another Wii Points Card or two.

How soon is soon? Wikipedia just says October for Japan; anyone know if there's a specific date yet?

This is as good a place as any to once again wax nostalgic about ever getting a proper follow-up to Tetrisphere.

they need to put it out. originally I heard This summer... that has come and gone - now I hear October - and well, it's October! ah. I want to play Dr.Mario is getting old quick.
