Good, Factor 5'll show 'em!
Oh, wait, those are GameCube games, my bad.
Hopefully Factor 5 will show 'em when they actually unveil whatever the hell they're up to.
Jab7 @ Oct 9th 2008 10:05PM
The Rouge Squadron series kicked ASS. Would gladly pick this up again.
Haohmaru @ Oct 8th 2008 2:49PM
I played (and loved) the first Rogue Squadron back in the N64 days, but never got a chance to play the GCN games. With decent motion controls, this could be a day one purchase for me if it's true.
Orion @ Oct 8th 2008 2:54PM
Rogue Squadron was very good for the time, but by far my favorite was Rogue Squardron II. III was just complete trash, but at least gave multiplayer for the whole second game.
The series, despite it's horrible last iteration, is one of my most cherished ever. With motion controls this could breath new life into the series, and with updated graphics (at leaset for the N64 version plus welcomed updated control) I think that this could be successful if priced right.
Would be interested though if they put the first RS on the Virtual Console.
Mr Khan @ Oct 8th 2008 3:01PM
III wasn't complete trash. The air/space sections were great, the ground ones were trash, the walker ones were so-so
Orion @ Oct 8th 2008 3:06PM
Compared to the other two, it was trash. That and just because it has a couple good space missons, doesn't mean it's a complete game. If i rate the space missions an 8/10, and the rest is a worthless experience to me.. and the space missions are only 3/10th's of the game at most, then you end up with a very pitiful score at the end.. resulting in my nickname for it....
trash.
ejamer @ Oct 8th 2008 3:05PM
As always with these repeat titles, it depends on pricing and new features (or the lack thereof).
Just this morning I was trying to find a reasonably priced copy of the GCN Rogue Squadron games online. Believe it or not, the prices aren't so hot if you live outside the USA. This is another compilation disc that I'd strongly consider buying - especially if the N64 Rogue Squadron saw graphical upgrades, if there were any improvements on the control scheme, or if online features were added.
Sonic_13 @ Oct 8th 2008 3:18PM
The Rogue Squadron series is one of my favorite video game franchises. I love all three games (with 2 being my favorite and 3 being my least).
I really wish that they would release a Rogue Squadron 4 instead...
Akatosh @ Oct 8th 2008 3:21PM
Awesome. I'd love to play the 64 version again.
guybrush @ Oct 8th 2008 3:22PM
You do mean S-foils right? I hate to be the Star Wars nerd in the room, but there shouldn't be mistakes in article titles when it takes two seconds to look it up on Google.
David Hinkle @ Oct 8th 2008 3:55PM
Actually, I saw evidence pointing to both on Google and I really thought it was X-foil, so I went with that. I'm actually a pretty big Star Wars nerd. I've got the original trilogy on laserdisc.
Anywho, I changed the title, but the URL will remain the same. Seems to be the best compromise, in my eyes.
Thanks for the heads up!
Edit: Yup, you're correct!

Thanks again!
VENOM @ Oct 8th 2008 4:34PM
I've actually really wanted to try playing the Rogue Squadron games with a flight yoke.
Guess I'll just have to get this instead.
leonus11 @ Oct 8th 2008 4:56PM
definitely a day one purchase for me! nintendo is literally STOMPING on the competition with all this news! man!! when ninty makes a comeback they sure come back hard!
Hamster @ Oct 9th 2008 8:22AM
Is being fobbed-off with repackaged N64 games instead of getting new games really that good news?
leonus11 @ Oct 9th 2008 12:02PM
well it depends. see the reason i say that nintys STOMPING the competition is because that aren't many people who had a GCN and now that the Wii is popular and many people own it, it makes alot of sense that ninty will indeed STOMP the competition. but to those who've already owned a GCN it isn't very big news. so yeah like i said it depends. wouldn't you agree hamster?
leonus11 @ Oct 8th 2008 4:58PM
@ Orion
yeah but just because it wasn't as good as the first two it doesn't mean its trash. it just means that it was not as good.
Andrew @ Oct 8th 2008 6:34PM
This is great news, even if it isn't a new game. I really hope this does well, and I hope they see the potential of a new Rogue Squadron game and make one ASAP!
Matthew @ Oct 8th 2008 7:08PM
Gah! Invest in new stuff and stop holding us hostage. I can't remember the last great title I bought on my Wii, I mean I'm still waiting for Fatal Frame!? No more ports, especially from Gamecube and N64, if people missed out back then too bad, but don't make us all suffer by wasting time on releasing this ****
Genome4824 @ Oct 8th 2008 9:10PM
YES!!!
except i just bought Rougue Squadron 2 for GC on ebay... damn lol
TomSkib @ Oct 9th 2008 10:28AM
Considering that I never played any of the Rogue Squadron games, this is right up my alley. Sweet!
Justin @ Oct 9th 2008 12:23PM
What we all have to remember is that we are on this site because of our nintendo love, we have NES, SNES, N64, and GCN. But a lot of new gamers didn't, I have no problems with Nintendo rehashing old games if there is upgrade in graphics, good use of controls, and a good price point. If they are packaging all these games together into one, I would expect the price at $29.99 that is $10 a game same as you would pay for a VC N64 game. Then I am buying it. Then again I am a Star Wars Fanboy too.
Dace666 @ Oct 10th 2008 3:16AM
This is the best news for this Nintendo Star Wars fanboy since the release of TFU!!
Bring it on!
Raven @ Oct 12th 2008 11:20AM
i hate ports too, but i can see why nintendo wants them so badly, besides the free money aspect. if you take the time to create a great piece of art and no one got to see it the first time around, you would really want new people to appreciate your hard work if you had a more popular medium.
