The
DSi wasn't the only DS news out of Japan. A video showing Nintendo's upcoming lineup just
happens to reveal several upcoming games for the handheld, all published by Nintendo themselves. It makes E3 look like a cruel joke. We've culled the
totally new games from the video and listed them here, along with the games that we knew about but haven't seen video of yet. We'll have more info about each of these games when ... it exists! In the meantime,
oh man new Mario & Luigi!
- Wagamama Fashion Girls' Mode: a fashion game from Nintendo! Neat.
- Aruite Wakaru Seikatsu Rhythm DS: The fitness game with the pedometer.
- Sekai no Gohan Shaberu! DS O-Ryouri Navi: a sequel to Cooking Guide that is based on recipes from around the world -- we're guessing the exact ones featured in other regions' versions of Cooking Guide.
- Some kind of fortune telling thing involving tarot and palm reading. Taboo: The Sixth Sense 2K9!
- Tomodachi Collection, some kind of thing that lets you interact with Miis. This looks like none other than a resurrected Stage Debut!
- Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!!
- Made in Wario/Wario Ware, although Wario's name doesn't actually appear in the tentative title. It's, like "Made in Series" or something. But it's clearly Wario.
- A brutally insane 3D Picross.

I wonder if any of these games are downloadable or if they are all retail.
If I had to guess, I would say that the WarioWare game will be a DSi exclusive as it will most likely utilize both touch screens and the camera.

DSi's only got one touch screen.

Ah, you're right. I should've known that. I just had it stuck in my head because Engadget had that in it's headline all night.

I don't know if it's only me, but somehow I'm most excited about Mario & Luigi RPG 3 outof that bunch.
I had to giggle when I saw the footage of it first.

I was checking out a video of the dsi on kotaku and I think I saw Jeanne d'Arc DS??
It was a SRPG with a blonde character in silver armor so it seems to fit. It was right before clips of Chrono Trigger DS

I've taken a quick look and I can tell you that it is probably Valkyrie Profile: The Accursed One. The gauge during the battle sequence looks very similar to it's previous versions.
It's highly unlikely to be Jeanne d'Arc. I would have expected Level 5 to announce it during their conference last week. Also, the characters don't go that far when attacking :-)

chrisis, not only you are most interested in Mario & Luigi RPG 3 from these games. I'm not interested in casual games at all, so this lineup disappoints me. But that could be expected from Nintendo. I hope that 3rd party companies won't stop making normal games or I won't buy DSi.

I hope Mario and Luigi 3 will be better than 2. 2 was a disappointment.

A bit too much casual/lifestyle stuff, but oh well.

MARIO/LUIGI STAGE DEBUT AND DIY WARIO WARE! I've fallen in love all over again!

I was hoping for some more serious games. Overall, my wife and I were discussing the new DS this morning and we concluded that it must be aimed at the 6-12 year old market who don't already have a smartphone/pda, which they carry with them at all times, most of which can do all the same functions of the new DSi and most likely has a better camera...

The problem with removing the slot is: what about those who want to get a DS and the Pokemon DS games, and want to be able to send those Pokemon from the GBA games to their Pearl or Diamond cartridges?
I have an old style DS and a pink DS Lite. I'll wait on this new DS until it more colors like maybe a blue or a lavender purple color.
And it has to have better WiFI security.

HOLY CRAPPER NEW CRYSTAL CHRONICLES!! DO WANT!! Ok, enough caps lock for now. I am genuinely impressed by what the developers are putting out there now. Sadly, I'm sure that more than a thousand dollars will go into DS games next year from me...
