Personally, I just hope Nintendo releases a "DSi without the DS" for the rest of us. I just don't want to spend another $180 for something I already have, but with stuff tacked on that I also already have.

So you want to carry the system with downloadable content/bigger screens/(reportedly) better speakers/other and a ds so you can play nsmb/mp:h/whatever games you own?
I'll take the option that's not a burden thank you.

bug frawg, I'm kind of agree with you: DS with integrated R4 is what everybody was asking about.
But frankly, I think Nintendo needs to fix the way they communicate with people.
I fully understand that they are very conservative and cemented in past. But such things like "Internets" (which are "series of tubes" to them) changed way how responsible company talk to its audience.
DSi is move in right direction. But the timing reminded me immediately of MotionPlus timing. They essentially f*cked everyone: never telling anybody what they do, how they do and why they do it.
It seems that they still do not realize what kind of responsibility it is to be a market leader with your devices in hands of many many people, with many companies investing cash in game development for your platforms.
Problem is, if they would ignore market, they would simply loose leadership.
For comparison look at competition. Sony is always on their back - and Sony was forced to talk to people (what was PR nightmare to them). Yet, end-result is that PS* is improving and improving greatly. And Sony also does not keep any /surprises/ for 3rd parties. They are all well set to be leadership - they just lack any product which people might see as "must have".

#2: No, I just want a DSi without the DS, like I said. I'm pretty sure Nintendo can sacrifice some screen size to make it smaller, right? I mean, the DSi is thinner than the DS lite, so why not squish it a little as well?
Maybe I'm just mad I was hoping the initial rumors were a joke. Oh well.
#3: Uhh, right. tl;dr, though, but I got the basic gist.

I guess I'm alone in this but I'm disappointed once again. It's one thing to rehash games from third party developers but now Nintendo wants to get on that trend. Seriously, this is not the Pikmin news we need to hear. As for the hardcore aspect, there isn't much going on.. once again another great Conduit and Madworld showing, but March 2009, come on.. give us some holiday cheers. A new DS, nothing too crazy but a buy in my books, but wait... North America once again gets the screw job, we have to wait for sales to die down?! Are you serious!? If I importing is a viable solution well then I won't complain, but if it is :@ I'm just at a loss, I continually check back as if expecting to here some massive update. Nothing here has thrilled me, I mean everyone was gunning for storage solution Kid Icarus, nothing... and not even D.O.D release date news for the US/CDN, come on... bleh, go Nintendo go but get it together, please.

*squints* i don't see sin and punishment in there, bro

Ah, a miscue in my rant agreed nonetheless but S&P2 does not make up for all. It will be a fun filled game but mindless and just wave of baddies, not that I'm complaining but I'm awaiting an "epic" title or game direction. I suppose Madworld can fill that void but I feel like it's going to lack any major depth, but don't get me wrong, I'm there day one for my purchase. Meh, go Nintendo Go...
p.s Phantasy Star Online looks kick ass for the DS, too bad I have to wait hella long to import one.

I've never had a problem with ports, it's not like they stopped making new games. and it's great for those who missed out on these games during the first production run.

Personally one of the best days i've had in a long time in terms of game news. Probably the best single day since, oh, May 2006
Plus our cafeteria served Boston Cream Pie.

...hey, wow, nintendo managed to really impress us without a mario/zelda/kid icarus like announcement.

Damn it! I'm away from the Net for 24 hours and all hell breaks loose.

Does the R4 work on this Dsi unit? I have tried but the dsi does not recognize the card. Any suggestion?
