Fire Emblem dated for U.S, fantastic WiFi mode detailed
Nintendo just confirmed that Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, a remake of the original NES / Famicom game, would be winging its way to the U.S. in the first half of next year, and while that happy news alone would have been enough for us, it's also going to receive a bunch of brilliant, extensive features for its WiFi mode.Like another much-loved Intelligent Systems-developed strategy title, Fire Emblem's online mode will feature full voice chat, as well as the ability to lend units to friends and have them returned after battles with improved stats, news that is +10 win. On top of this, there'll also be a Wi-Fi store with a constantly changing inventory.

As a huge FE enthusiast, this is the DS game I've wanted more than any other since its announcement. Just knowing that it's getting localized is enough to balance out all of today's other ho-hum DS news.

I am also a hughe FE fan, and the new content (including the so cool Wifi store) will definitely make me not hate the long localization time for the FE games. (Though I do realize it must be a complete pain in the rear to translate SO much dialogue.)

...AND give the dialogue a medieval/fantasy flare on top of everything. Do you know how many times I called someone a "craven cur" after playing FE7? This is just about the only series I like where I can forgive slow localization times.

I should also mention that I meant to say that FE is one of the few that can use that kind of dialogue and not seem horribly cheesy and overwrought. Making it halfway-realistic takes a lot of extra localization time, I assume.

I never understood what they meant by "full online voice support". I tried playing Days of Ruin online, and I never heard a word from my opponent.

This is the game of all games for me. Fire Emblem is the ultimate mix of strategy and RPG, and its my favorite series of all time. Absolutely perfect for gaming on the go, and its about time its on the way!
Looking forward to the Wifi - just about the only thing the game previously lacked was a competent multiplayer mode.

That store sounds so exciting I think it's a lot cooler than 'create a weapon'
Now if only they'd make more episodes of the Anime based on this game heh
