Square Enix reveals new Final Fantasy for Wii
The latest issue of Shonen Jump magazine in Japan details a new game from Square Enix in the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles franchise, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. Other than having a ridiculously long name, the title will allow DS and Wii gamers to play alongside each other at the same time online. It will even allow you to transfer your Mii from the Wii version of the game to the DS version!
The game has a release date of January 29th listed and when more info is made available, we'll update you all. Who's excited for some more Final Fantasy on Wii?

Awesome!

FINALLY. They only showed footage of a CC game like 3 years ago...
Online for both DS and WII sounds awesome... Though I know it won't be because of the stupid friend code system.

Im not sure if I understand how Mii's integrate into this game. Is your Mii the main character? Is this more in the MMO style?
David Hinkle @ Oct 1st 2008 11:06AM
There's not much info on that yet, sadly.
bug frawg @ Oct 1st 2008 11:02AM
Why does square have to give it's games full sentences for titles?
also, remember me doesn't seem to work for me. :'(
Ferco @ Oct 1st 2008 11:41AM

Sisyphus @ Oct 1st 2008 11:10AM
Big meh for me.
Wesley Fenlon @ Oct 1st 2008 11:19AM
Sounds like the Crystal Bearers might really be dead. Or it's just getting some company.
Mr Khan @ Oct 1st 2008 11:21AM
After their failure to follow through with the Wii side of the last FFCC duo, i'll take this with a grain of salt.

I loved the first CC beyond belief. Four players, four GBAs. Meant me and 3 friends had to arrange an evening to play. Some of the best times with any game I've ever had. The multiplayer overcame other flaws.
I'm praying this one will allow something similar.
Light @ Oct 1st 2008 11:53AM
Same here, also, it didn't hurt that it is still one of the most damn beautiful game for any Nintendo system! I love all of the CC's.
Their the only thing stopping me from crying myself to sleep every night because the other two systems get XIII.

"Boooooorinnggg." - Homer Simpson
I'll stick with FF1 for NES and FF2 for SNES.
CJLopez @ Oct 1st 2008 12:13PM
Well, looking nice, but i'd rahter have news on Crystal Bearers
Also, check more of this issue of Famitsu, new screens on Monster Hunter 3, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic and the Black Knight and Valhala Knight Eldar Saga, last one looking good, really
Man, famitsu has come to be what internet can't do!!!!
guttertalk @ Oct 1st 2008 12:21PM
I hope that it supports online multiplayer, too, not just local. It's hard to tell with the DS and Wii compatibility statement.

Square Enix has announced a new Action-RPG called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles : Echoes of Time for the Wii and Nintendo DS (with Wii / DS connection) in the latest Shonen Jump magazine. Players should be able to use their Mii (face only ?) in the game. To be released on January 29 2009 in Japan.
- Play at the same time on the Wii and DS, thanks to Pollux Engine created by Square Enix.
- Players on the Wii and players on the Nintendo DS will be able to play online together.
- Different gameplay for the 2 versions (stylus or Wiimote).
- Story revolves around Charlotta and a mysterious crystal.
- You can transfer Mii characters you made to the DS version.

This could strike my interest in the late winter months.
Suichimo @ Oct 1st 2008 1:18PM
Ok. Between the DS and the Wii should I just go ahead and give Square my wallet, or at least access to my bank account? This year alone, counting games to be released and games I don't have yet, they've given me TWEWY, FFTA2, FFIV, DQIV, Chrono Trigger, and possibly some that I forgot. Next year I have DQIX and this at the least.
CJLopez @ Oct 1st 2008 2:02PM
Add to that
FFXIII
FFXIII Agito
FFXIII Versus
FF Disidia
Kingdom Heart Birth by Sleep
Kingdom Heart 352/2
Ok, there are 2 PS3 and 3 PSP, being 352/2 the only one for DS, but its SquareEnix, and really, its only normal for a WiiFanboy to multiplatform this days, so for me, i'm a NintendoSony Fanboy
ZombiePikmin @ Oct 1st 2008 2:19PM
Speaking of Wii..........Kingdom Hearts........ I heard about a EGM joke/fake game Mushroom Kingdom Hearts it showed its cover: Mickey then the main protoganist(forget his name) then Mario. I wish it were real
Oblivion @ Oct 1st 2008 11:12PM
@CJ Lopez
