New MadWorld trailer is a chainsawin' good time

A new video for Sega and Platinum Games' upcoming gorefest MadWorld has made its way onto the internets (it was a DVD supplement to the latest issue of Famitsu) and, for fans of vroom-ing chainsaws, it's sure to be a delight. We're not cheering for the title due to its bucketloads of violence, personally, but rather because an over-the-top violent experience that parodies game shows sounds like a treat across all fronts. Plus, you know, it's Platinum Games.

He wasn't defending the game as much as the idea that Nintendo is putting out games w/ stylized (bad) graphics to compensate for the lack of a heavy duty system. I think it's pretty smart. Wind Waker was AMAZING, due in part to the fact that they didn't have to render a real-looking Link. The animation was incredible because the colors were simpler than they would have been.

Sorry Chris I must have missed his comments debating the value of graphics vs. a lack of a heavy duty system. And his comparisons to Game Cubes Wind Walker completely went over my head. I only noticed his caveman like attempt at an insult "You sir are moron" You must have more experience working with the learning disabled than I do, Chris.

I was complaining about the graphics that I have seen not the game I havent played, Sonic. You like playing games in black and white, I don't, I think it looks crappy thats my opinion and I'm entitled to it without a bunch of obnoxious gamers calling me a moron so go spam Amazon with 1 star ratings for Spore or whatever gamers-spazzes do and STFU.

I dunno I was kind of underwhelmed. Specifically because since it's all the same black and white palate it's hard to tell the characters from the background when there's a lot of motion. In the still frames I've seen I've thought that it looks really cluttered and difficult to discern what's what. This video confirms that.

Stylized graphics are great if they worked. Without color to help differentiate what's an actionable object or character and what's a background, it's going to be an eyesore to play.
