Stephen Colbert's favorite game has to be Disaster: Day of Crisis
We all know the man's stance on bears. He doesn't like them. In fact, he downright despises them. That's why we're sure that Nintendo's latest, Disaster: Day of Crisis, is among Colbert's most treasured games. Why? Well, it features a boss battle against a bear. Aside from teaching us the near indestructible nature of the beast, it also shows us what kind of weapons to use against a bear should it get you in its sights. Also, it teaches us that bears like to stupidly charge back and forth.

compared to the rest of the game, this looks kinda dull....

Washed out graphics and boring dull lifeless gameplay seems to be the order of the day for wii graphics.

Ummm.... have you played No more heroes? Super Mario Galaxy? the definitive version of resident evil 4? the other wii games I could mention? or seen the conduit's visuals?(which are by no means terrible)

And cool hair.

Not gonna lie, I want this game a lot less after watching that.

I didn't like how washed out it made everything look, certainly, but i do love the depth of tactics that they seem to put into it
Though why the bear runs around a fixed circuit puzzles me to no end.

Guys-
It appears "Washed out" because this forest is filled with ash from a volcanic eruption. It's meant to be hard to see and blurry.
The bear goes on a set route because this isn't real life and if it were programmed as such it would kill you no matter what you did or how fast you ran. Sure in real life a couple shots the face would kill a bear, but that's not how video games are. That's like watching an action movie and trying to find logic in certain areas of the film. "Why would he turn his back to the open barn door after hearing somebody scream inside?" That sorta thing.
You're supposed to learn the Bear's actions and then attack when appropriate.

Why does he have to kill that bear? It's not even attacking! Just... like... leave the forest.
meist3r @ Sep 26th 2008 8:46AM
Why does Mario stomp Goombas? They're just like "Leave Bowser Kingdom!".

Actually his favorite game would be and I quote, "instead of rotting my mind with the mindless violence of a game like Grand Theft Auto, I play Left Behind: Eternal Forces."
You can find these tidbits and more from "I AM AMERICA (and so can you)"

Realistic or not, its still frickin' boring! Boss battles in NMH's were repetitve-pattern bashers, but a whole lot of fun, this aint..kapeesh?

I already pre-ordered that game but if those are the final weapon sounds I'm kinda worried. This will probably be a nice experience but this sequence looks more like a QTE puzzle to me than ordinary shooter action. I like the graphics and I'm curious to see what kind of environments they've created. It's not even that long until release -about a month I think.
