Day of Crisis not a total disaster?
Famitsu recently revealed its score for the game, and it received a respectable 34/40. Not too shabby, if we may say so. Especially for a game that pretty much got a surprise release. Not a Sega Saturn kind of surprise, but you get the idea.

Logic would also dictate that since the game was coming from Nintendo, it would be good.
Also, who said Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was a bad game. Just because it was canceled, doesn't mean that it was bad.

Though i too want the game to be great (and i would in any case, fanboy allegiance aside, to avoid a deluge of "disaster is a disaster" puns that will be inevitable if the critics think it sucks), we must remember once again the score that Famitsu gave to Lair

considering that there was no hype for this game anyways, i didnt think anybody would have cared if it got high or low scores.
me? i want this game so badly.
no offense to anybody, but i never saw what was so special about Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

Before we get excited, let us recall that Famitsu also gave Sonic 06 a respectable score in the 30s range.
I'm still going to be cautiously optimistic until more reviews come in.

There's something you forgot. Nintendo waited to show this game because of their new strategy: wait until few weeks for a game release to show it.
I just feel like this game hasn't received enough attention.

Sigh... Are all gaming websites outside Japan dunno the existence of different versions of Famitsu?
34/40 (8,8,9,9) comes from "Famitsu Wii+DS", which usually gives higher scores than the real "Famitsu" (e.g. Famitsu Wii+DS gives TOS-R 35 while Famitsu gives 31 only)

For the true Famitsu released today, it scored 31/40 (8,8,8,7) only. (This is posted on Wii@Everyday)
Same score as Wario Land Shake and Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk (or Dawn of the New World in US).

how is famitsu wii+ds any less real than other versions? saying it's reviews are nothing to go by because of typically higher scores(which your post implies) is like saying the 'real' famitsu is nothing to go by because it gives typically lower scores. games, like any other media, are largely based on personal taste and the elements the reviewer thinks are most important. in addition, reviewing only games for certain platforms allows for fairer assessments of quality because of familiarity with the strengths and weaknesses of the console in question.

The game might be good or very good but I'm sure the mission structure and score system will cause a lot if critics to pull out the dreaded accusations of being "too short", "too simple" and last but certainly not least "archaic".

Man, it's absolutely crazy to see how bias works into people's opinions of games. And I don't mean some kind of fanboy bias, I just mean the kind of bias hype gives to a game.
As in like this case where there is a "not bad" tone to a game getting above the 8's in scores. Whereas any highly anticipated game would be like "ZOMG IT'S SO GOOD LIKE WE SAID IT'D BE".
I don't know if Disaster is good, great, or meh...but I just think it's odd the reception of good news for this game has a totally different light cast on it than a more hyped title would get...
