Whoa, what an awesome week for games! Mega Man 9, Super Dodge Ball, Vectorman, and Wario Land: Shake it? thats awesome!
Nebinator @ Sep 24th 2008 5:09PM
Don't forget deBlob!
PGrock @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:25AM
Dang! I only have enough Wii Points for one game, which should I get Mega Man 9 or Vectorman?
TJ @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:28AM
dude....MM9 FTW! There is NOTHING else!
samfish @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:26AM
Wow, the VC is getting a good game this week, too.
I just wish I could afford to buy all the games I wanted this week. I'll probably have to settle for two (plus Megaman 9) :\
Sonic_13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:35AM
I hope everyone gets MegaMan 9 today.
It would be great if the WiiWare version of MegaMan 9 turned out to be the best-selling version of the game!
vidGuy @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:49AM
The staggered release is going to help the Wii version since it is the first released, but the biggest factor has to be that the Classic Controller is the best suited to a game like this. MM9 on Wii FTW!
Sonic_13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:12AM
Wouldn't the Wii remote sideways be the best option?
I'm not familiar with the control scheme(s) yet, but I would think that since it is design as an NES game, the NES control option would be best.
Shadow31 @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:36AM
Unfortunately, the many casual gamers probably will pay Megaman little mind. And I'll be honest, I'm not getting it today, I don't have money to; and I might not get it, not a Megaman fan myself. I'll admit it's a popular game, but not everybody loves it. In fact, I refuse to download ANYTHING else until Nintendo gives me more storage. I'm completely sick of deleting/moving stuff.
If I had more space, I would probably grab a Wii Points card and give this one a try. Congrats, Nintendo, you're now making Capcom lose money, haha. (Plenty of space on my 360, maybe I'll get that version.)
vidGuy @ Sep 22nd 2008 1:53PM
@Sonic, maybe the remote will be better for the classic feel, but I prefer the larger D-pad and control of the classic controller. I'm not sure what Wii gamers will choose more, but it seems both the remote and VC controller are much preferred to the 360's dinky D-pad.
Kenology18 @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:41AM
Well, I'm gonna get Megaman 9 for sure. Vectorman is sooooo tempting. I still have to get River City Ransom on VC and LostWinds on Wii Ware.
Retail games I'll pick up this week are Wario Land (must have) and de Blob. Wonder how Brothers in Arms will turn out...
8-bit.artist @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:48AM
mega man 9 will undoubtedly be the best selling wii ware game to date.
WalkingCarpet @ Sep 22nd 2008 9:51AM
Probably just Mega Man 9 for me... Though de Blob is tempting...
igorponweed @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:07AM
Never liked Vectorman, mostly 'cause I suck at it. I'll be getting, de Blob, Wario Land and Megaman. I'll wait to get Lego Batman, and I have Samba dreamcast.
davillain @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:32AM
what time do wiiware games come out im dying to get it already
Mr Khan @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:07AM
9 AM PDT
So noon for a lot of us, 11, 10, and whatever the hell Arizona is on for others.
Sonic_13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:16AM
I think "Virtually Free" needs to start again featuring MegaMan 9 as the prize...
Mr Khan @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:07AM
This thread has a sad lack of Wario love
Though i'm held off from buying Megaman 9 because St. Joseph's wifi is retarded. It barely works with regular computers (PC and Mac), and not at all with Wii or DS. It boots me off routinely every time i turn it on, and their IT says its not their problem
feh... I gotta buy an adapter, which'll take like four weeks since i'm not spending more on shipping than i am on the adapter.
hellhammer @ Sep 22nd 2008 2:24PM
No way.
I've got all the Wario love right here. In fact, I'll be out today to get it and out again on Saturday to compete in the WarioLand tournament!
Sisyphus @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:09AM
I'll pass on Megaman 9, but Super Dodge Ball?!?!? McRib is back!
Roto13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:17AM
*rushes off to download Mega Man 9*
Roto13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:19AM
... So it's not actually there yet.
Dammit. xP
Roto13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 1:24PM
I downloaded it literally the minute it was up. :P I love it so far.
Dig @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:21AM
That's it. Megaman 9 is going to be my first download from the Wii Shop Channel. I have finally reached the point where I have both money, interest, AND a wireless Internet connection my Wii can connect to. That game is gonna be SO downloaded.
ZombiePikmin @ Sep 22nd 2008 11:56AM
Vectorman,MM9,WarioLand,KSSU,DeBlob YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Linka @ Sep 22nd 2008 12:55PM
I got Megaman 9 a few minutes after it was officially released.
They weren't kidding when they said you die a lot, but that might just be from the fact that I never really played Megaman before. I've tried the Concrete Man and Jewel Man stages; I keep dying at the minibosses.
But it's definitely a good buy, and it didn't take up as much space as I thought it would, on my Wii. Thumbs up to that.
Roto13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 1:24PM
I died at the Jewel Man mini boss once, but I didn't have any problem with him the second time. Once you know to jump (as high as you can) it's not that hard.
SegaPleaseMakePanzerDragoonWii! @ Sep 22nd 2008 1:27PM
Glad to hear that it doesn't take up much space.
I just bought my first (and only) Wiiware game (Helix), I have never bought/downloaded any VC games, and yet Helix alone took up 1/3 of my Wii's available memory. One Wiiware game. 1/3 of the Wii's entire memory space. That's just insane. I really like Helix, it's a fun and a surprisingly effective workout tool, but 1/3 of the system's entire memory? That's just ridiculous and sad. Here's to hoping Tetris Party and Bomberman Blast are small, or else I'll be having free space issues in no time and may be forced to either make a choice between the two games or to do the Wii to SD shuffle (which I am not looking forward to).
Linka @ Sep 22nd 2008 1:39PM
Ah, thank you! I'll keep jumping in particular in mind when I go through again.
Sonic_13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 2:02PM
@SegaPleaseMakePanzerDragoonWii!
Helix takes up over 400 blocks?? That's crazy. I didn't think any game took more than 200-250 blocks.
Final Fantasy didn't even come close to that.
SegaPleaseMakePanzerDragoonWii! @ Sep 22nd 2008 4:15PM
To Sonic_13...
I just checked. It takes up 308 blocks, leaving me with 606 left. I do have all the free channels (including the internet channel), but Helix is my only game.
TheOverlord#2 (Playing: SMRPG, SMG, & MM2) @ Sep 22nd 2008 4:46PM
SBCG4AP Episode One took up 319 blocks. I don't know about Ep 2 though.
Sonic_13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 6:15PM
Interesting.... (I was just estimating 400 based on memory figures I had calculated a while back).
Anyone know how many blocks MegaMan 9 takes up?
Linka @ Sep 22nd 2008 6:29PM
@Sonic_13
66 blocks when downloaded.
guttertalk @ Sep 22nd 2008 2:51PM
I know this is a quibble but 1000 points for what is basically a new NES game? NES games on the VC are available for 500-600 points.
I know 9 has some new features, but nothing that took very many lines of code. But it's a Wiiware game, most of which are 1000 points, I believe.
Roto13 @ Sep 22nd 2008 3:53PM
Saying it's basically a new NES game so it should be as cheap as the old NES games is like saying Final Fantasy XII should have been like $20 at launch because Final Fantasy X was a Greatest Hits game. Mega Man 9 is more expensive because it's a brand new game that hasn't been making money for like 20 years.
The DLC is pure price gouging, though.
bentendo @ Sep 22nd 2008 2:57PM
Got Mega Man 9 and loving it so far. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Lots of "Game Over" screens. lol.
TheOverlord#2 (Playing: SMRPG, SMG, & MM2) @ Sep 22nd 2008 3:02PM
Awesome week for Wii games. First WL:SI! is going on my Xmas List along with De Blob.
And then there's some other game I heard about...Nega Man 9, I think? I'll probably see how that's like.(Sarcasm-o-meter is going off the charts! :P)
ZombiePikmin @ Sep 22nd 2008 10:54PM
I LOVE MM9 but i die to mutch for my skill level i owned 1-6 (7&8 were unloved children)
