Judging by the icon to the lower-left of center, you can power up with Napster in the game. Sweet.
Gennataos @ Sep 20th 2008 11:02AM
Not interested in the least. Considering the uninformed crap that's going to be all over the media about it when it's released, I'd rather it wasn't even being made.
Kimiko @ Sep 20th 2008 11:04AM
I don't care about any GTA, and this installment is no exception.
CPFace @ Sep 20th 2008 11:19AM
Hmmm. While the open world concept fascinates me, I just can't get over the fact that I have no interest in the subject matter.
HairyBalls @ Sep 20th 2008 11:30AM
You guys need to use some better screen shots...

Don't really care. I'm much more excited about other games.
Mr Khan @ Sep 20th 2008 1:42PM
Not particularly. I like the cel-shading, and the fact that its full-scale (relatively), but its so... brown.
Need to see some gameplay vids, really. Thank god for the forthcoming Nintendo Press Summit
Char6296 @ Sep 20th 2008 3:24PM
In this gaming generation, brown is the new... rainbow. Apparently. Looks interesting...
Masterofallz @ Sep 20th 2008 2:09PM
Gta with noticeable pixels.
WOO.
Ryan G @ Sep 20th 2008 2:45PM
So it's basically Grand Theft Auto 2, back when it was top-down?
m-p{3} @ Sep 20th 2008 3:17PM
I actually wasn't expecting much from it, but by judging the screenshots the game doesn't look that bad.
I might consider trying it. Hope that Nintendo will put a demo about it on the Nintendo Channel.
SephFinale @ Sep 20th 2008 5:17PM
Is that Lego GTA: Chinatown Wars?
elend @ Sep 20th 2008 6:36PM
Wow, that looks ass. :(
Dopple Boppler @ Sep 20th 2008 6:41PM
I really like the graphical style (though I agree with people above saying there's too much brown, but what else is new), but I just really can't help but feel that this game is going to suck, to put it bluntly. Grand Theft Auto 4 really disappointed me, and being that the DS's lineup is already so amazing, I personally can't see this even being on my radar from here on out.
I'm sure it'll sell like hotcakes to John and Jane Q. Public, though, and that's all that really matters in the end.
currynoodles @ Sep 20th 2008 10:30PM
Brown is apparently the color of next gen games. lol.
http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/23/the-color-of-next-gen-gaming-is-brown/
Certainly an interesting style, although I was hoping for the 3rd person view like the post GTA 2 games. Am I the only one reminded of Freedom Force when looking at the isometric view? =P
Certainly enough to get excited about! Now all we need is videos! =D
Carl @ Sep 20th 2008 11:37PM
Even if it sucks... I'll probably buy just to blow stuff up... That's all I ever do on these games...
Jonathan Harford @ Sep 21st 2008 12:42AM
Isometric? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Zach S @ Sep 21st 2008 3:30AM
It's just too small and, quite frankly, quite ugly.
Imagine that screenshot ON a DS- you wouldn't be able to tell WHAT was going on, squinting at the screen like you've gone mad. The text on the 'victim's' health meter is even bigger than the cars for crying out loud!!
Stu @ Sep 21st 2008 10:41AM
Well this is a monumental let down. I was all excited about GTA coming to the DS but I'm not now. We've seen quite a few decent attempts at 3D but this isometric nonsense just makes me want to weep. They might as well just tart up all the top down GTA games (1,2, London packs) and have done with it.
Instead of wasting your money on this crap I'd suggest "Payback" for the GBA.
donssword @ Sep 21st 2008 12:32PM
Its looking more interesting now.
2-D GTA is (or used to be) a free download from Rockstar. Combine that with the number of PS1 releases available from the 2-D iteration, and repeating 2-D is just the same ol, same ol.
I'm more interested in how Rockstar is working on the concept of smaller units of playtime to accommodate user behavior on handhelds. How can Rockstar support portable gaming, but still build on its legendary large scale sandbox world?
Tical00 @ Sep 21st 2008 1:11PM
Reminds me of the first 2 GTA's, can't wait!
ChocoDK @ Sep 21st 2008 10:04PM
Sorry to sound negative but the graphics kind of turn me off. Not that I care about graphics but compared to GTAIV this game lacks interest to me. However, that doesn't mean I will not try it. I will rent it and I think its great that Nintendo owners will get some form of GTAIV. But this just doesn't make me feel like I want to play GTA.
