DS homebrew controls DSLR camera
Usually when we think of homebrew, we think of awesome games and tech demos and things like that. Not this, which is brought to us by Steve, who wished to work with his camera out in the real world, but didn't want to drag his bulky laptop around with him everywhere he went. So, he came up with his own solution by hacking a DS to work with his big fancy Canon camera, which allows him to do precise shooting and mess with a whole bunch of other settings. Good job, Steve!

Wacky Japanese games, emulation, DS Fanboy's recommendations, naughty homebrew, independent projects: our recent week of homebrew coverage had it all. Don't be put off if you're a beginner, either -- we have guides and a glossary for the newest of newbs.

Okay, now make the homebrew app compatible with my DS Face Training Camera, and I'm all for it.

Camera companies could work with Nintendo on developing mobile software and the DS could print MOAR money?

If camera companies worked with Nintendo for a control device like this, then this guy would be sued for violating someone's IP somewhere.
(Of course, I imagine a grim future where companies will start patenting and copywriting every conceivable combination of numbers and letters so that any programming anyone does will be illegal.)

Actually, I'd love to try that with my camera.
