Active Life trailer: enjoy it with your family
We think we've figured out Active Life: Outdoor Challenge's niche. We know it differs from the 800-pound gorilla of Wii exercise games, Wii Fit, in that it's more game-based and less pure exercise activities. It also has a bit of an "adventure" setting. It also features activities like jumping that don't show up in Wii Fit, which may be better for aerobic exercise. Also it looks cute and fun.
But more important than any of that is the fact that, starting next week, Active Life will distinguish itself from Wii Fit in that you'll be able to find it in a store. Enjoy the latest trailer, which is one of the most toy-commercial-like of any game trailer we've seen. We think it's the narration.

This is what Wii Fit should be, but with the Balance Board, which is way better designed.
Honestly, the only parts of Wii Fit that I ever do anymore are the Balance Games (and Hula Hooping).

If I was going to get this, it would be cause it REALLY reminds me of Track and Field for the NES and the mat that game with that game... That game rules... If only they should VC it and have this mat as a controller option. :P

How can something so bright and colourful be so depressing?
There's something about these nauseatingly fake families in Wii commercials that is really starting to give me the creeps. I mean, they don't really ever go for subtlety do they? Yes, we know these games can be "enjoyed" by noobs of all ages, genders and races in the spacious and stylish living-rooms of an insanely happy, middle-class, uber-sanitized family environment, but they don't have to smash our faces in with it. If I was an orphan I'd feel really left out.

I think orphans already feel left out even without this game.
...that's right people, time to start adopting!

A Target sort-of near us has a bunch of Wii Fit in stock. I just walked in last night and bought one.
