PEGI locks on to Sonic & Knuckles
We've been wondering how Sega would handle the weird lock-on capabilities of Sonic & Knuckles on the Virtual Console. According to the PEGI ratings board, we'll soon find out: the Genesis Sonic 3 continuation has been rated for Virtual Console release. It showed up on the ESRB months ago, but a new rating suggests forward motion, maybe.The cynical view of someone who has seen a VC game before dictates that the release will feature only the new levels available on the standalone cartridge, with no way to access the extra content made available by combining the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge with Sonics 2 and 3. But maybe Sega will surprise us!

I've wondered this myself. I have bought all three games and would hate for sonic and knuckles to lack the ability to work with 2 and 3.

it'd be pretty sweet if on the wii menu you could drag the game channel (sonic 2 or 3) onto sonic and knuckles and have them combine...highly doubt that though

I was hopeful for that as well;

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Boo. That game really shined when attached to Sonic 3. In fact, that there had the best story and plot progression of ALL the Sonic games(but they didn't talk?...you got my point). Something tells me they will just release the two combined in one whole download...with additional price...and the poor saps who bought both will have to buy that too.

Why bother getting the Virtual Console versions of Sonic games anyway? Sonic Mega Collection is pretty cheap.

Yes, so is the Mega Man collection; but everyone seems to fancy more with the VC games. :rolleyes:

Actually, I can understand the Mega Man Anniversary collection if you only have a Wii or Game Cube. The Game Cuber version had those horrible reversed controls. >_>
