Japanese VC releases next month: Square Enix shares a Secret

We're particularly excited to see Capcom's shooter Forgotten Worlds and the PC Engine version of Super Dodge Ball. See the full list after the break, along with some upcoming US releases via Hudson. There's a surprise!

secret of mana was one of my absolute favorite games to play growing up. i am seriously baffled that there hasn't been any similar action-rpg since (with multiple onscreen playable characters), and upset that the "of mana" series have gone a different route. children of mana had a similar fighting engine, but it was a disjointed dungeon crawler and only had one main playable character.
please get secret of mana to north america vc. oh please oh please oh please :-P

Me too. I remember being extremely disappointed with Secret of Evermore (on many levels, but that's besides the point) in the fact that it wasn't 2P! How hard would that have been? augh. SOE was ok, but could have been so much more. Secret of Mana on the other hand, fantastic. Don't know why I ever sold it.

and i thought square would just keep re-making remakes (sometimes of other remakes) and selling them for too much.
With this and Super Mario RPG out in japan, we better get some North America support from them soon

For me this is better news than hearing of SMRPG is on the horizon. Of the two, I regretfully sold Secret of Mana. bah.
Get to it Nintendo/Square! SoM on North America VC, stat!

Kinda bittersweet news to me... See, this only makes me think it's a cop-out of doing an actual remake of the game. But, could it be they're seeing if there's any actual interest in the market? Not sure.

Man, fuck you, NOA. There's absolutely no excuse for week after week after week after week of near absolute garbage constantly released on the VC when NOJ not only shows us what we'll be seeing a month in advance but also releases TONS of truly GREAT titles!
When was the last time there was a VC game in the US that was REALLY worth being excited about? Ys is a classic, but it's HARDLY on the level of Secret of Mana.
