Rumor: Disaster: Day of Crisis speculation hots up

It's coming! No it's not! Yes it is! You get the idea. Since it was first exposed to the world more than two years ago, Disaster: Day of Crisis has been shrouded in FUD.
Recently however, the project's vitals have been looking healthier by the week. The OFLC age-rated the game in Australia, Nintendo itself has stated that progress is being made on development, and a supposedly leaked release date for Europe (October 24th) has now appeared on NeoGAF. Though the veracity of such a source could easily be questioned, the game has also appeared in the database of a Danish retailer, along with a "Q4 2008" release date and an age rating of 16+. Disaster averted?

Incredible!
I think this game looks amazing and if it does release in NA, it'll be my first 'day 1' purchase for the Wii.
I hope this is legitimate, and I can't wait to play it.

You have to worry when a game has been delayed this much. What's the problem? Bad frame rate? Inherently flawed game design where there's nothing to do? Repetitive gameplay?
Some of those problems are more fixable than others. I'm excited about this. But I could also see this being one of the biggest let downs in gaming history. It's either going to be a B+ or an F. Nothing in between.

My guess is a little bit of everything. Remember the stable of screens they released a while ago? They looked horrid, and there have been countless improvements in the kind of gesture-based gameplay that this is certain to be based on. Some of us wondered if the game wasn't being delayed back to the release of Motion Plus, since that might be useful for it
Even Metroid Prime 3 went through a significant polishing delay, and this game needed it a helluva lot more than early screens of Metroid Prime 3 showed

All signs point to yes
Which would be a HUGE boost to the Wii's ailing Q3/4 lineup. A 1st (ok, 2nd) party original IP that's also mature
Color me hyped. Though it means death to my wallet

Didn't Nintendo come out and say that they've shown all the games that will be released in '08? Why would they contradict themselves?
KaBob799 @ Aug 27th 2008 10:41PM
I hadn't heard that but they could always mean that theres no unknown games coming out, even if we aren't expecting some of them to come out so soon.

Nintendo never lies! Like when they announced the DS Lite the day after they denied it...

Maybe they meant first party games? If I'm not mistaken, this is second party.

I'm just glad it hasn't been canceled. Have you seen the main character. Coolest. Hair. Ever.

I am looking forward to this game but I don't think it will be a day one purchase. I may wait a few weeks after release to make sure it will be worth the price.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Nintendo shows this game off at PAX and announces that it's publishing The Conduit itself as a way to make up for the E3 disaster (pun intended).
