Born for Wii: Power Stone 2
"Welcome to the Power Stone World."Man, we're off to a good start already! When a game is nice enough to welcome you to the experience just for making it to the title screen, and also offers you encouraging remarks like "You are the champion – keep it up!" it's got to be pretty awesome, right? Well, in the case of Power Stone 2, it is.
Released for the Dreamcast in 2000, Capcom's Power Stone 2 was relatively hot on the heels of its predecessor -- the original Power Stone hit the system in 1999. Power Stone 2 takes advantage of the Dreamcast's four controller ports, and like Super Smash Bros., it offers one of the most frenetic and entertaining brawler experiences for a group. Just make sure you don't play with that one friend who doesn't respond so well to losing -- your Power Stone experience may end with a large bruise. But I digress: other than 2006's Power Stone Collection for the PSP, the Power Stone world has been rather dormant. The colorful cast of characters, addicting chaotic battles and goofy nature of the Power Stone world make it a prime target for the next Wii multiplayer phenomenon.

I never thought Power Stone 2 was as good as its predecessor; there was something about the original's focus and its simplicity that made it much more frenetic and satisfying. The evolving levels and item creation subgame in the sequel were needless distractions, and undermined the core fun of the original.
Didn't think much of the new characters, either.

Awwww... but I loved the evolving levels. It made it seem more fun in parties. ... it's like those theater-rides they had wayyy back in the day. Where it was a cheap movie with moving chairs, and it'd be like a roller coaster ride. Totally unnecessary, and they coulda' used the money for something better, but it was entertaining while it lasted.
And the item creation, I loved that too...
...then again, I love tedious work that unlocks things. It makes me feel accomplished. :P

I loved these games so much on the Dreamcast! They'd really need to spice it up to compete with Brawl on the Wii, though.

I would rather Capcom go ahead and make Power Stone 3 than port either of the first two to the Wii, mostly because it's already been done on the PSP and we don't need another PSP-to-Wii insult.
Power Stone 2 was WAY better than the first, which was excellent in its own right. Anytime my family is in town, the guys break out the games and throw down Dreamcast-style, and this one is our favorite. It has to be revisited...

3 games:
Legend of Oasis/ Story of Thor 2 -> Ancient
Guardian Heroes -> Treasure
Azel Panzer Dragoon Saga RPG -> SEGA.
I hope, anyone can play them some day, because they are masterpieces

As much as I would like to see Power Stone 2 on Wii, I would much rather there be a Dreamcast 2 with Power Stone on it :)

I didn't own a dreamcast, but Power Stone 1 and 2 were the games i mostly played on my friend's console. It has the spirit of smash bros series, excellent games. I remember playing with the grasshopper/mantis/voldo-a-like character. Fun time!

Power Stone 2 rules.
It also rules that this here article started with the "Welcome to the Power Stone World!" line. The voice acting on this game is supersweet.
Me and my kids have played this game for hours. We have a Wii now ... but we sometimes bust out the DC just for some Power Stone 2 and Soul Caliber. Dreamcast rules.

A solid beginning may lead to a perfect ending. Go for it!
