GC 2008: Dead Rising trailer is dangerously bloody
We don't question the decision to show a trailer for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop at the Leipzig Games Convention. In fact, it's not even much of a decision: this is a very large press event, so if you are a publisher and you have a game coming out, you show it. And Dead Rising, just by its nature, is a violent and bloody game, characterized by crowds of (undead) people to be destroyed and piles of improvised weapons to make that happen.
But Capcom went the extra mile and bloodied up their trailer -- it's even bloodier than the gameplay footage already was. It's like Capcom's way of saying "Please don't let us sell this, Germany."

DO WANT.
All I want are dead zombies and funny hats. This game appears to deliver that.
Mike @ Aug 20th 2008 3:55PM
I don't see any action suffering from those "reduced zombie hordes" you guys were talking about yesterday. It just makes me want this game even more bad. With even better grammar, too. :)

Done and done!
I probably sounded a little dickier than I'd have liked to, but that's what we call 'The Tmac Effect', since I was also replying to him.

But does it have Mii integration???? =)
Just kidding!
I know what I'll be asking Santa for this year!
CJLopez @ Aug 20th 2008 5:49PM
Ok, Mii integration replacing the zombie faces would had been awesome!!!!!
killing your zombifyed friend would had been pretty funny
Is it too late to let Capcom know of this idea????

Goes a long way towards bolstering this winter's weak lineup

Alright, alright. I'm coming to terms with this whole "only about 6 zombies on screen at any given time" business and am once again getting pumped about this game.
I know it sounds stupid and like I'm settling, but now I'm starting to think the 360 version has TOO MANY zombies. I mean, you're killing so many at once, what's the point? Guns become useless and you have to resort to some mass melee weapon to get through the mall. At least now you can get up close and personal with the sonsabitches and knock and shoot their heads off individually.
The graphics aren't looking as bad as they were yesterday either and the Wii controls look, dare I say it, FUN.
SoshiKitai @ Aug 20th 2008 6:30PM
More Zombies = Makes you feel more bad#ss
... Makes you feel more Bad#ss = new slogan for the 360.
:P
(not being a manly-manly-boy-manly-manly-man... I'm not ALL for the over-testosteroned games... but they are fun)
TendoMan @ Aug 20th 2008 5:18PM
I agree with John Rios, the game looks alot better given the second look. I'm pretty pumped about this game, and am looking forward to it.
Also, whoever cut and edited the trailer did an awesome job. Really gets your attention.

January 31, 2009?? I want it now!

Don't deny me one of my favorite games being re-released on my birthday! :)
(okay, I'd take it now, too)
Extinction @ Aug 21st 2008 7:25PM
Wow that's a lot less zombies on screen. Hell even the corpses don't stay. I can't imagine this version being fun without the sense of threat.
