Castlevania: Preorder of Ecclesia
Konami's Japanese special edition of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, consisting of the game, a soundtrack CD, and a leather book cover with a notebook, is way awesome. It's currently only available for preorder from the Japanese Konamistyle store at a cost of 8,410 yen ($77), but the use of the English title and logo on the book cover is a very promising sign.
This is just the latest piece of leather to be associated with the series -- Simon Belmont's original costume was totally leather, as is the original form of Vampire Killer (and the version sold online) and, of course, Koji Igarashi's hat.

Like Castlevania? We do -- to an embarrassing degree. Check out our impressions of Order of Ecclesia from E3, settle in for a trailer, or go Behind the Boxart with a Konami graphic designer.

Castlevania, the reason I play DS games. That and Final Fantasy. :)

On the one hand, 'WANT!'. On the other hand, conflict of morals regarding the killing and skinning of animals for silly reasons.
Konami, go on the cheap! Make it pleather!

I still think the Japanese boxart looked much better than the American edition. Don't mess with a good thing, Konami.
As for preordering, no thanks. Order Of Ecclesia is going to be my first Castlevania game. I want to see if it is a series I'll enjoy more of, and what better way to start than a game that has an actual playable heroine?

If you haven't played a Castlevania game before, then you might want to consider trying out Portrait of Ruin. It's cheaper than Ecclesia most likely will be, and you can play as Charlotte. I mean, I'm sure Order of Ecclesia's going to be as awesome as the other games are, but I figured I'd throw that out for a cost-efficient option.

Is there a way to preorder this from Europe or USA?

Man I missed the PoR preorder, I will NOT miss this.

I got PoR FOR the preorder. It was my first Castlevania, and a good thing it was, too. I ended up getting the Castlevania GBA Double Pack.

I might get this if I don't have to use the freakin stylus to do spells. I would much rather button mash thru this...
Ace20 @ Aug 16th 2008 10:27PM
That's interesting, because you've never EVER had to use the stylus to do spells in CV games, nor in this one. The developer, IGA, even went out of his way to make absolutely sure the stylus was almost never used in this game.
Necrotix @ Aug 17th 2008 12:42PM
Um if I remember correctly you had to use stylus to kill bosses no? Maybe I must be thinking of some other system that uses a stylus and has Castlevania games... Hmmm.... I cannot think of another /shrug
Anyway I hate the stylus. Sue me. Unless its a puzzle game like wordjhong or chess, I don't see the point of it.
