Batman: Arkham Asylum announced, possibly for Wii?

With The Dark Knight and Heath Ledger's stellar performance as the Joker still fresh in everyone's mind, who doesn't want to play a new, non-sucky Batman game? Of course, we have LEGO Batman to look forward to, but it's hard to feel like the Gotham bad-ass when you're controlling a plastic and deformed minifigure.
The upcoming issue of Game Informer, due August 18th, has the scoop on publisher Eidos Interactive's forthcoming game, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and though it hasn't yet been revealed which consoles the title will appear on, we have hopes that one of those systems will be the Wii.
Though the game's developer, London-based Rocksteady Studios (Urban Chaos: Riot Response), hasn't yet released anything for the Wii, its founders did have a hand in creating Catwoman: The Game for the GameCube -- that has to count for something, right?
According to Game Informer, Batman: Arkham Asylum is an original title following a botched prison transfer which the Joker uses to his advantage, turning the psychiatric hospital's worst patients and Batman's worst enemies against the caped crusader. The game will feature "a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock" and a story co-written by Paul Dini, who you'll recognize from his work on Batman: The Animated Series.

Why aren't they going with Heath's joker look? That cover reminds me of a junkie version of Ceaser Romero.

Probably because Heath's Joker was terrible. His performance as a psychopath was great, but it just wasn't the Joker. I feel that even that image is influenced by Heath's too much.

If by terrible you mean best look for Joker ever. I would have preordered this and Mortal Kombat immediately had they used TDK's Joker look.

This will NEVER come out on Wii. Look at the description! a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock? I don't think many company are gonna try to sell a game like Bioshock on Wii unless Mad World and The Conduit sell like hotcakes! Remember though, history repeats itself(Cough Manhunt 2 No More Heroes cough cough)

Umbrella Chronicles and RE4 are brooding dark games and both million plus sellers... and don't give me the "but thats Resident Evil" routine because this is THE BATMAN. ;)

The article mentions it's coming out for the 360, PS3, and PC. Certainly doesn't mean it would *never* hit the Wii, but the statement that "it hasn't yet been revealed which consoles the title will appear on" isn't true.
And for the look of the characters, Edios has the rights to the Batman characters, but not anything from a Batman movie - so the article talks about how the developers went for a "classic, yet original" take on the look for the characters.

It's a shame it looks like it's not coming out on the Wii then.
Are you guys going to end up getting it on the PS3 or 360 then? If you only have the Wii, you should take a look at this Stacker 2 contest going on where you can win a PS3 or 360 (your choice). All you have to do is design a 6 Hour Power t-shirt (this is easier than it sounds). If you win you'll get the system, a copy of Rise of the Argonauts, a year's supply of 6 Hour Power energy shots (which are great for gaming sessions), and 10 t-shirts with your design on it. Check out the contest details here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview
Let me know if you enter and I'd be happy to vote for your design. I hope you don't mind me commenting, by the way. I work for them so feel free to ask me any questions about the contest or the drink too. Good luck to all those entering.
