Limited-edition Dialga/Palkia DS Lite coming August 17 with bonus stuff!

Nintendo sent out a press release confirming the impending American release of the Dialga/Palkia system recently spotted on GameStop signage. The Limited Edition Pokémon Pack comes out on August 17 and includes a bunch of extra things!

The package will contain not only the swank Onyx DS with the Diamond and Pearl cover Pokemans, but also a DVD of an original animated feature based on Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness. To top it off (or, more accurately, to cover the top of it), there's a Dialga and Palkia DS case and a mini-poster.

How much extra do you have to pay for this package? How about none extra? The Limited Edition Pokémon Pack will retail for $130, just like every other DS Lite.

Do you guys know how long this will be out in stores? I can probably raise enough money for it, but it will take a while.

Oh yeah, cannot wait. Even though I have a White Lite, I will be upgrading to this sexy beast. Plus, free swag is always awesome!

If I didn't think the Dialga/Palkia Lite was so ugly, I'd totally buy it. I mean, getting a whole lot of extra stuff without paying extra? Awesome!

A month? Until supplies run out? Exclusive only to GameStop? Can you put it on reserve?

I would just call your local Gamestop and ask.

I called, and they've told me that pre-orders will be available for $25 down(?), that the T-shirt will be available with in-person pick-up, and that quantities will be limited while supplies last.

They also mentioned that they won't be selling the bundles until September 7th.

I can't say that this is the same for everywhere else, though. I hope that helped a little bit!

I called my Gamestop and they didn't know what the hell I was talking about which makes me very sad. :(

I called my gamestop, and after a little coaching, they were able to find it in the computer. They said that it wasn't available for pre-order yet, but the status in the computer might change.

Anyways, I can't get it on Sunday. I'm really hoping it won't sell out in 1 day, or I'll be pissed.

I really want one of these, but that 130$ is going to buy the slew of awesome games coming out in a month (DQ IV, Black Sigil, rhapsody, Disgaea, and maybe Yggdra Union for my PSP, I'm such a consumer whore).

Forget Gamestop, forget Amazon pre-order...

I HAVE one. I picked it up at my local Fred Meyer store this afternoon (a Pacific Northwest department store). I got the last one too. $129.99. Same price as the plain-'ol DS two shelves away.

I went in hoping to find out if they'ed be carrying them. I got my answer. :)

Can you post pics? Its not that I don't believe you, its the fact that I want to know if its shiny all over. I would get it if it had a matte finish on all sides. Sadly, doesn't look that way in the pics.

I haven't opened the box, nor will I, so please don't bother to ask. I bought this for my 9 year-old. He has a DS Phat that he doesn't want to part with... it has special sentimental value. So this will go into hiding until his Phat gives up the ghost. Or ebay selling prices get too good to be true... ;)

Based on the picture on the back, the hinge area is silver and the bottom is matte black. Sorry for the lousy cell phone pics. I didn't think I'd be asked for photos until JC Fletcher prompted me to. ;)
