The least they could parody
The creators of the sometimes NSFW (and also amusing) webcomic The Least I Could Do (and also, Looking for Group) have ventured into new territory: parody Mario Bros. games. Or rather, game, singular ... or, if you want to be very specific, Super Rayne's World. The first level is currently available, and it's a good and silly mix of traditional Mario-esque gameplay, with all the staples replaced by cameos of characters and themes from the comic. For fans of the comic, the choices make hilarious sense; no one else could parody a Piranha Plant the way they do. Forget fireballs, too; here, you're hurling bottles of tequila. Guess that's a little more tasteful than some other things they could have chosen, considering Rayne's proclivities. Not a fan of the comic? Let's just say the main character's favorite anecdote involves that time he bought a horse a prostitute.
While it's still in the early stages, the game serves as a nice diversion, and could actually develop into something fun, particularly for Rayne's devotees. Check out a couple of screens from the level after the break.

This is just ANOTHER flash game that copies Super Mario Bros, Newgrounds has hundreds of these.
This, shouldn't even be here, the game is mediocre and is actually pretty irrelevant to the Nintendo Wii.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure its being designed to be sold over Xbox. So I have no idea how this constitutes wii news.

I never managed to become Braman and shoot tequila shots. The game's too hard and clunky.
I would've rather had something new and different, not "yet another Mario ripoff".
(I'm a fan of Ryan Sohmer his work)

I agree. I'm a fan of LICD and LFG, but this game needs quite a bit of work. There are flash games that are better programmed than this, with better physics, less lag, and places where it's clear that there's no ledge (I got hit the first time because I thought I could jump on a dumpster). It's not even a parody, it's a poorly programmed reskin, at the most.
Also, so you don't have to play the game again, Braman is overrated: the bottles fly at slo-mo, even on the lowest graphic setting.

My kitty's name is Rayne, so I find this amusing. :P
Don't see the relevance to the Wii though...
