Ragnarok Online DS screens revealed before the end of the world
After the announcement of a DS Ragnarok Online game over a year ago, we weren't sure if Gungho would get around to showing the game before the actual Ragnarok occurred. We haven't been plunged into an extreme winter yet, and the world has yet to be submerged with water, so we're pretty sure Gungho and developer Gravity have come out ahead.
Ragnarok Online may not be an MMO like the original game, but even as a single-player RPG (with unspecified online features) it's worth keeping an eye on, mostly due to the absolutely gigantic character sprites. It also appears to have gestural attack inputs controlled by the stylus. Ragnarok Online DS comes out December 18, and we're sure more info will show up soon.

I'm curious about these "unspecified online features". Can't wait for more info!

I think they were fairly specified.

lol Ragnarok Online Offline. I don't know about you guys, but I don't see a single player version of RO being as interesting as, say, Phantasy Star Online in it's single player mode. PSO was meatier in terms of gameplay, story and visuals enough to keep you hooked even while offline.

Someone already made a fan-made game called "Ragnarok Battle Offline" and it was actually quite awesome. It's a side scroller, and VERY fun. It was very hard to get installed since it was only meant for Japanese folks, but it's actually really good.
Believe it or not, good RPG's are good both offline and online.

As a RO player myself, I want to see how this game will funtion as an offline game. They have produced single player offline RO games before.

TWEWY finally broke my "stylus gestures" cherry, so I look forward to this game now whereas I might not have before.

Awesome news! I've been a huge RO fan for years, and was beginning to think this got canned. Can't wait!

"Ragnarok Online may not be an MMO" and that's where I lost interest. Don't care a peep about RO, but I'd really like to see a DS MMO.

I would hate to see a DS MMO, but a MMLAN game could be really cool, you know, having a ton of players able to play together using a local wireless connection instead of the internet proper. Of course, you would have to have 20 friends for it to work, but it would be an interesting idea.

The thing is, if you hate it, you don't have to play it. Those of us who would enjoy such a thing, however, would appreciate it.
