For many people,
My Japanese Coach is like the best thing ever. It seems like such an awesome idea to help gamers learn the language of the land that has all of the best games (well, maybe that's up for debate, but that discussion is for another time and place). We know many of you can't wait to check it out. Heck, neither can we!
But, brushing the
My Japanese Coach aside, what other languages do you wish they'd make helpful software for?
My Klingon Coach? How about
My Simlish Coach? Do you want something a little more grounded in reality, like
My Greek Coach or something?

My Basque Coach.

How about Latin?
jowido @ Jul 29th 2008 2:49PM
can't you do latin at school?
iruka @ Jul 29th 2008 6:29PM
I don't think we have Latin classes here.
Kimiko @ Jul 29th 2008 8:32PM
Depends on where you live maybe? I'd love to have had the option of Japanese in school, like they do in many American schools. We did have Latin and ancient Greek (in addition to the standard English, French, German of course).
Zealot @ Jul 29th 2008 9:13PM
In reality, schools that provide access to more than one language tend to be located in wealthy suburban school districts--at least in America. Access to anything at least semi-exotic to Americans such as German, Latin, Japanese, et cetera is far from standard. I only had access to Spanish, which was fairly disappointing. Not that I have anything against Spanish, of course--I just would have at least liked a choice.

You can do Latin in school, but it's fun to have an aide to help.
I used to dig up Latin texts on Project Gutenberg for my Latin. A Nintendo DS title would have been more awesome.
iruka @ Jul 30th 2008 2:03AM
Yup I guess it depends on where I live. I'm in the Philippines if it helps... I haven't seen any Latin classes offered here. Although Chinese, Japanese and Korean are very popular.
Oh... a Korean one will be nice too...

I concur, as much as I'd love to learn Japanese, German, Russian, Greek, Hebrew, Esperanto, etc. I would like to have a game that would help me refresh the one other language I'm fairly familiar with besides English.
Whether or not it is offered in schools is a meaningless point of contention for the release of a training game. Not everyone is still in school or has an open time to take the course. And those that are taking such a course might want some extracurricular aid in studying/learning.

How 'bout My 1337 Coach? That'd be funny...

How about German? I'm actually really surprised that there isn't any German Coach and since German is required in my school, it'd help me out a lot.
Amelinda @ Jul 29th 2008 8:07PM
I am surprised too that German was not released with my spanish or my french coach
obaketenshi @ Jul 30th 2008 3:46AM
Considering its the most spoken language in the EU, and probably the fourth most significant language to world business (under English, Chinese, and Japanese respectively), I'm disappointed there isn't one.
trickycoolj @ Jul 29th 2008 11:58AM
Ditto on German. With French and Spanish, the logical next step in European languages would be German. That'd about cover every public American high school offering.
Alas, I'll just have to buy "Mein Wortschatz Coach" when I travel to Germany and hope I know what's going on in game.
chibi_wings @ Jul 29th 2008 3:33PM
I third that!
I actually took german before, but I'm not the best with languages, so having a video game to insulate what I have already learned would be nice, especially since I'm too darn lazy to actually look through my vocab and grammar notes. ^^;;
obaketenshi @ Jul 30th 2008 3:43AM
Yeah, I'd like a German Coach. I keep pining for one, because I'm learning it on my own, and it would be massively helpful to have something like that.
Matthew @ Jul 29th 2008 1:48PM
I'd love a little Russian Coach.
Mr Khan @ Jul 29th 2008 7:37PM
Agree
blender @ Aug 4th 2008 1:48PM
Yes I am a geek, because I think my Klingon coach would be awesome

My Big Fat Greek Coach...?

My Ainu Coach
It may be a dying language (quite literally), but all the more reason to let it survive the death of the last few living speakers
aj @ Jul 30th 2008 12:02AM
I'd love to see an Inuktitut coach.
(There is one online, if you care - http://www.tusaalanga.ca/)
Or any/all Native American languages.
Not useful in every day life, but it is good to know your history.
Feba @ Jul 29th 2008 7:57PM
Esperanto.
Zealot @ Jul 29th 2008 8:02PM
Hebrew. It's third or fourth on my "to learn if I ever have an unlimited supply of time and money" list.
aj @ Jul 30th 2008 12:05AM
There should be a Qubecois add-on for "My French Coach".
And if there is time, perhaps a Creole expansion pack as well, because why not? They might re-build bourbon street again one day, and I want in on the action.
