Castlevania trailer: watch it again for the first time
The last Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia trailer certainly made the game look good -- but, in the form we saw (taken by pointing a camera at a screen at Konami's E3 booth), the trailer itself could have looked better. This direct-feed version of the OoE trailer corrects that single issue, leaving nothing between you and awesome monster fighting.
The trailer features a bunch of new monsters, and a bunch of monsters reused from previous Castlevanias. But that's okay, because not only do we expect it, Konami got those sprites right the first time! You can also see Shanoa doing wacky glyph-based attacks like turning into a were-panther. But enough talk -- have at you!

Looks awesome, just wished they would have polished the game up visually atleast a little, add a few more frames to those animations and whatnot.
By the way, what's up with all the Joystiq related sites posting under the entire staff now?

AOL budget cuts force them to post under a single staff account and only staff from the US. It's kind of sad, I liked the Another Week in... articles and Chris and the British/European coverage that Chris and Phil gave.

Was wondering when this would come up here. As I said in a comment on NWF... there's some information out there on what's going on, but I won't link any of it. Don't cry for Chris and Phil, as anyone could be lurking behind "DS Fanboy Staff."
It should be a temporary change. Hang around until the first and we'll see.

Thanks... me too! I just noticed that my baby turns up under an image search for Kuribo's shoe. How can hilarious things like that happen if I'm not blogging about Nintendo? I MUST CONTINUE.

They sure did like to show off the sheer variety of attacks in the game, and thats perfectly acceptable :)
Seeing all the cool combos and such makes me want to believe I won't stick to just a few attacks throughout the game, as I have done before in some of the previous handheld Castlevanias.

I've never actually had any problems with re-using particular monsters from previous Castlevanias. After a few games seeing some of the same creatures, they start to feel like minor members of the cast. They're old friends......that you kill every time you meet. For me, I'd be downright disappointed if I didn't see at least one Waiter Skeleton or Malachi or Ghost Dancer in the game.
