We know a lot of you are a little bummed after
E3. You didn't get what you want. We know how that can feel. In the tiniest of efforts to make you feel better, we're giving away a couple of classics this week as part of Virtually Free. If you don't have them, you should -- and we're going to give them to one lucky reader:
- Punch-Out!! (NES, 500 Wii points/$5)
- Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES, 500 Wii points/$5)
To enter, just leave a comment here (with a valid e-mail address!) and tell us one thing you
liked about this year's E3. You must be a
legal resident of the United States with an American Wii (sorry, Canadians, we have to leave you out of this one; blame the gifting system and not us!) and
18 years of age or older. You may enter
once per calendar day between now and Monday, July 28; the contest comes to a close that night at 11:59 PM Eastern time, and we'll select a winner in a random drawing the next day. Questions? Check out the
official rules.

I was excited to hear about Wii Speak. I can't wait to talk crap to the people that I'm always beating on MK. (Hopefully)
Robb @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:23AM

nirniva @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:24AM
This is sad, but...I've never actually played Punch-Out. In any incarnation. Ever.
SMB 3, however, I have fond memories of playing on my dad's NES.
Christopher Jones @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:26AM
I am actually pretty excited for the new Wii Sports with the motion plus
Sab! @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:27AM
I was extremely excited to read all about the upcoming release of Mega Man 9 on WiiWare. I can't wait!
Cyber-Tyrant @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:27AM
Banjo & Kazooie's return!

Nate @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:29AM

NutMac @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:30AM
Wii Sports Resort will sell like a gangbuster.
PhoenixGeek @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:33AM
I'm actually looking forward to seeing what can be done with the Wii Motion Plus.
Adrian X @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:35AM
I'm kinda psyched about the new Wii Resort.
I STILL golf everyday!
KevinEMcCloskey @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:35AM
Well, no one died....
I think.
Actually, the news we'll eventually get a new Mario and Zelda game for the Wii is awesome.
Mike @ Jul 23rd 2008 1:02PM
Wrong! Every day they dont announce the new Kid Icarus a puppy dies!
Wii Speak looks cool if it is compatable with more than 1 game.
Neal @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:37AM
Wii Motionplus definitely has potential.
jrburke99 @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:39AM
The one thing I like about E3 is Mega Man 9. Everything else was terrible, or just not interesting enough. Too many sequels, too much unoriginality. Though I guess Mega Man 9 fits in there as well...but at least it is something the gamers want!
dyehater @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:40AM
Entering myself now. One thing I liked about E3? All of the funny responses we got from Nintendo's PR department after the conference. I wonder if they've ever seen 'Thank You For Smoking'.
Metal_Link @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:38AM
Animal Crossing.
Jesse @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:41AM
Animal Crossing or the Motion Plus add-on, really only Wii related news to come out e3 that was actually NEWS. Was that new Madworld footage released at e3/part of an e3 presentation? IF it was then that was the best thing.
Brett @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:50AM
Seeing the Motion-Plus in action was really exciting (sword fighting FTW) and wii-speak was a really nice surprise... I honestly didn't believe it would ever happen, so I like both those things, muchos alot.
geeksandotaku @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:54AM
Yay! I heard Punch Out was a good game.
kanaki0401 @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:57AM
I already have Punch out, but I don't have Super Mario Bros. 3 yet.
14915213 @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:54AM
I hope I win!
Dan Davis @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:53AM
I think WiiSpeak will be pretty cool...
Carl @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:00AM
I liked Wii Sports Resort.
Garrison Parker @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:58AM
I really like the Motion Plus, it seems it could add a new depth to games that I have been looking for. WiiSpeak is something that I have also been waiting for.
brandon @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:02AM
Wii motion plus looks like it should be interesting hopefully they will tie in the nunchuck so we dont have to worry about missing slots. If only Nintendo would support the hardcore gamer and make it worth while.
Psinomad @ Jul 23rd 2008 10:59AM
Megaman 9!
Chris @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:01AM
wii motion plus baby!
Ryan @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:01AM
Mad World. Hopefully it'll be a successful 3rd party release and we'll get more stylistic games down the road.
RUTHLOOSE @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:02AM
Ooohh Ooohh. Pick me!
Played/owned both for a couple years and loved them both. Can we get an official Nintendo Wii sequel to Punch-Out?
slthytove @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:03AM
Like many others, the Motion Plus - that's got some serious potential (and it'll be nice if it gets incorporated into the Remotes themselves so it's not a matter of plugging things in).
Adam @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:04AM
WiiMotion Plus and WiiSpeak
Jesse @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:09AM
I liked reading about the new Mega Man and seeing the Ghostbusters video. Ohh and all of the big 3 news buzz.
Shadrach @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:11AM
I liked the announcement of Wii Speak and also think the Motion Plus has a lot of potential and look forward to seeing it used for more than "doggie disc".
Mike @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:11AM
Wii Motion Plus, definitely.
rob @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:10AM
i liked the fact that i've heard the words "hard" and "core" more than I have ever in my entire life!
Hughesmar @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:10AM
Definitely digging on Mega Man 9. Can't wait.
Gabriel L. @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:27AM
I actually enjoyed the prospect of a Wii Motion Plus that would allow better interactivity in games!
Dave T @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:14AM
I loved hearing that the Zelda & Mario teams are working on projects (hopefully Zelda & Mario games).
Doug Stewart @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:16AM
The Nerf-esque swordfighting in Wii Sports 2 ("The One That DOESN'T Come With The Wii(tm)!" actually looks pretty darn spiff.
Cruz @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:18AM
Ghostbusters
ProfWho @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:18AM
I liked Wii Speak. There I said it.
Haohmaru @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:19AM
Animal Crossing - because I love the franchise, and online play with voice chat will only make it better.
eugaet @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:19AM
I was excited to hear something about a new Pikmin. Also very interested to try out the MotionPlus.
seth @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:29AM
I liked how overly concerned people got with the Wii's lack of "hardcore" titles. I actually felt that Nintendo's presser was the best. While the other companies merely focused on new iterations of old games, Nintendo brought new hardware and new ideas to the fold.
WaffleTron @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:22AM
It's not that I'm not very excited for Wii Sports Resort, Animal Crossing, Wii Motion Plus, and Wii Speak (because I am), but Wii Music looked so awkward and goofy that it did more damage than not announcing any "core" games.
Still, we all know the real games are coming anyway. As far as their E3 show, def Wii Motion Plus. Hopefully developers will get started soon and we'll have some Wii Motion Plus games by the Q3/Q4 2009.
schwal @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:50AM
The Microsoft keynote.
Maattp @ Jul 23rd 2008 12:26PM
I am excited about wii motion plus and wii speak... To bad I'm a Canadian and Wii Fanboy hasn't figured out that Canadians can gift to each other. D= Get a Canadian to gift it!!!
Matt @ Jul 23rd 2008 11:30AM
SUper Mario Bros. 3 because I already bought Punch-Out and am in the mood for some old skool platforming.
