Reggie totally cool with a GTA on the Wii

With Chinatown Wars on the way to the DS real soon, it's abundantly clear that Nintendo has no qualms about releasing a Grand Theft Auto game on their hardware. The next question is obvious: will we see GTA on the Wii? Speaking to MTV, Reggie had an answer for that -- maybe. Lay it out straight for us, home boy.

The fact is, it's not really in Nintendo's "power" to simply rock up and demand Take Two and Rockstar get working on waggling with hookers. Reggie simply said a Wii installment "is all based on what Rockstar and Take Two want to do." If they want to go ahead with it, Reggie won;t have a problem, saying "if they build a bottoms-up game that takes advantage of what we do well, I'd love to see it on the platform."

We would love to see it on the platform too. Please?

Heck, I'd probably buy San Andreas, if they added online play to it. But then, I'm one of the five people who hasn't already beaten the crap out of it already. (Hey! I was burned out from loving Vice City so much!)

But Wii GTA? Yes, in so many ways. For much the same reasons that Godfather: Blackhand is on my to-buy list, and I'm very much looking forward to Chop Till You Drop.

When Nintendo stops trying to reinvent gaming and release a comparable Next-gen system thats when we will get a GTA.

Can you imagine a Metroid with the PS3 power behind it!!

Nintendo is shooting themselves in the foot. N64 behind the times. no CD, Gamecube behind the times no online. Wii behind the times, no harddrive or high end processor.

See a trend?! I do. My Wii is two months old and after NCAA 09 I am done with it!! The Wii is a kids system, thats all.

And to tell you, GameCube did had Online, in fact, was the first of the 3 consoles to have a great online game of the times. Had you ever heard of Phantasia Star ONLINE. Episode 1 & 2. That was a mayor seller of GameCube of the time. Just to be killed later by Final Fantasy 11 of course

Also, I'd love to see a GTA game on the Wii, but I've already beaten San Andreas like 3 times, and after playing GTA IV, San Andreas's characters/story just don't measure up. How about a new side-story featuring the characters from GTA IV? That would be a definite day one purchase for me.

2. Online play doesn't make a console. I can go back to my PS1 (which has better graphics than the PSP) and play NFS: High Stakes and MGS and have fun doing so.

3. The reason Nintendo went with ROM carts was because

a. Faster than a CD, meaning less load time
b. Harder to pirate

4. Since I don't want to waste time responding to both comments, Let me just say the Wii has better graphics

Wii 729 MHz
PSP 333 MHz

5. Anyone stupid enough to buy NCAA Football deserves to feel disappointed

It's not the size of your MHz that counts, it's how you USE them ;)

Case in point - You argue PlayStation has better graphics than PSP. Yet, the PlayStation's CPU is only clocked at 33.87 MHz compared to PSP's 333 MHz.

I can't see a GTA game being released on the Wii that wasn't scaled back significantly in terms of size and detail.
As much as I love the Wii and the GTA games, I don't think the two are very compatible.
