Jimi Hendrix songs, character included in Guitar Hero: World Tour

As if you needed another reason to be pumped for Guitar Hero: World Tour, the legendary guitar virtuoso himself is going to be featured in Activision's title. Not only will he be a playable character in the game, but master tracks for two of his songs will be featured. These tracks are:

"Purple Haze (Live)" (recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena)
"The Wind Cries Mary"

If that isn't enough for you, Activision also said that Hendrix content will be releasing for the game in the future, in the form of DLC, joining the ranks of Metallica. In case you need a refresher on the tracks, we've embedded some YouTube videos for each past the break. Go get your listen on!

They should release a “Guitar Hero: Beyond the Grave” edition where you travel to the other side and rock out against dead singers like Jimmy Hendrix, John Lennon, James Brown, Kurt Cobain, Rick James, Frank Sammy Davis Jr., Buddy Holly, Liberachi, Tiny Tim, and Raffi (who admittedly is not dead... YET).

Okay, so the play list needs some tweaking, but you get the idea.

If we're including musicians who only LOOK dead but aren't in your game, Keith Richards and Mick Mars need to be included!

Hmm... if I get it, I'll get it for 360, I have the Rock Band instruments for it which they announced at E3 will be compatible, at the very least in that version. But still, I dunno... don't care for Jimi Hendrix, so I don't even know if it will have songs I care about.

Does anybody know how the microphone is connecting with the wii? will it be plugged into to wiimote, or wireless, or will it require the usb port?

the intruments have wii remotes in them and i have recharegable batteries for my wii remote so i like that an d teh mic will be plugged into the wii USB port but meh, no matter. lol and ya i think it will be wayy better than rock band 2 bu only for the wii players, for non wii players, i dono but rock band 2 has metal pedal and 3 cymbals but i dono guitar hero and rock band are copying eachother so it's crazy but ya. guitar hero has red octane and rock band has mad catz. i'll stick with guitar hero world tour.jimi hendrix is awsome!
