Friday Video: Wii Sports Resort Sword Play at E3

Well, so much for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Really, as much as we love the thought of using our Wiimotes as Lightsabers, we don't think such duels will be able to compare to the Sword Play in Wii Sports Resort. That's right, we went there.

Seeing the 1:1 motion controls in action (via the Wii MotionPlus) just puts us in awe. Are we just too easily amazed, or are you guys excited, too? Maybe we can just pretend our swords are Lightsabers. Of course, we'll have to wait until spring to try any of it out, anyway. Too bad, so sad.

Yea, he deffiently wasn't very good at that. But that does look like it is not a gimmick and could acctually be fun, espically as a lightsaber. If they make it compatible for Zelda (And I'm sure they will) I may not be able to resist myself either.

But so far, all I'm buying from E3 is:

Animal Crossing City Folk

Wii Resort (Only for MotionPlus, but I might as well get a game for it)

Rock Band 2 OR Guitar Hero World Tour. I think the song list is going to determine which bundle I get. The drums and guitar look so much better in Rock Band 2, that I don't want to just get the game and use the old drums and guitar. GHWT has that new thing where you can create a song chart. But I'm kinda more impressed with Rock Band 2's songlist so far. So I'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place.

and Resident Evil 5.

What about you guys?

Please, next time you show us a vid of sword fighting with Wii motion plus, please please pretty please have it with someone that has good hand-eye coordonation because this looks horrible. :(

They need to make something other than Japanese style sword fighting. They should attach the nunchuck and make the sword a Roman short sword with the nunchuck as the tower shield. Ram the shields to weaken the opponent, then use the sword as a stabbing weapon, etc. etc.

This looks like utter garbage. He had no more ability to control the sword than we did with our fists in boxing. What the hell? I thought this is supposed to make the motion control better, more intuitive? It looks like crap if you ask me.

As far as the game, you can never go wrong with the Wii Sports games, looks fun but the Motion Plus looks like a rip-off.
