E308: Logitech unveils cordless Wii keyboard

So there you go: no more painstakingly entering text with the Wiimote. Now, aside from surfing the 'net, what else do we think this might be used for? We'll find out soon enough!
[Thanks, Chris!]

Animal crossing (duh)

Following Chris's link, $50? Seriously?
Also, "2.4 GHz wireless technology". Doesn't that have the potential to interfere with b/g WiFi devices?
meist3r @ Jul 15th 2008 12:57PM
What else I want to use this for? Are you serious?
Drop the nunchuk, give me WSAD back and let me aim with the Wiimote ... hell yes! I can imagine some awesome games that have Wiimote and Keyboard as Input. But as far as Nintendo is concerned this is probably never going to happen.

Sold! Where do I pre-order?
ChunkyB @ Jul 16th 2008 1:30AM
I don't get why this is a big deal. The Wii has supported any generic USB keyboard for a long long time. You could buy any wireless keyboard with a USB dongle (which this is) and it would work. Not to mention it would probably cost less.
Josh @ Jul 17th 2008 5:43PM
Right. This is just a cash-in for people that like to part with their money, just like those Sandisk Wii-ified SD cards.
ChunkyB @ Jul 17th 2008 8:45PM
That's funny. That's totally what I was thinking about. "Well, it's white and it says wii on it. It must be the right kind to use with the wii".
It almost bugs me as much as the shovelware that we keep getting on the wii. It's a similar mentality (cash in on ignorant parents and what not), but at least the wii branded crap works as well as their cheaper counterparts, rather than being complete piles of crap.
