WRUP: Dungeon crawling Chocobo edition

Our weekend is pretty much going to be full of Civilization Revolution, until next week arrives and we find ourselves neck-deep in work. Are you going to be playing Chocobo's Dungeon, or is this weekend going to find you playing something else?

TheOverlord#2 can has Animals Crossing? @ Jul 11th 2008 2:48PM
I'm leaving on Saturday for 2 weeks, but I'll still be here on Joystiq & WiiFanboy.(Can't wait for Tuesday @ 12pm! I'll be watching along(G4) & reading Joystiq's commentary if i'm lucky :P)
I'll be at my Dad's and he let me play Resident Evil 4, but I didn't finish it, which I'm hoping to do. Good game so far, but I don't know exactly how far I'm into it, but I think I'm at least 25%.

Picked it up already, and I am so extremely satisfied.
I remember the original Chocobo's Dungeon being badass hard (Although I was a little boy then, so maybe I just didn't grasp the Roguelike concept so well), but this one is definitely playable (Although I'm grown up now, so maybe I just finally grasp the Roguelike concept fairly well).
If I'm disappointed about anything, it's the lack of a measly two-player option. The original allowed a second controller to latch onto whatever support character went with you, and that was pretty awesome - this one doesn't even have support characters.
Regardless, it's doubtlessly going to consume my weekend as it did my thursday night. It's crazily addictive, and yet optionally challenging. Also, various outfits make for super adorable yellow birds.

Definitely playing when I'm not working. I freakin love this game. I'm already on the last story dungeon :) Dark Knight Chocobo ftw!

i've actually been having a b(r?)awl playing Brawl over wifi, usually with only one or two matches resulting in horribly laggy play. i think i may just try finishing what's left of the SE mode as well...
Then we have Mario Kart, of course, and the promise I'm making to myself now to finish off No More Heroes

I've put only a few hours into the Chocobo's Dungeon. I was hoping to have Baroque completed before Chocobo's Dungeon came out, but it just didn't happen. I'm on floor 21 out of a total of 40 floors in what appears to be my last dungeon run in Baroque before the game is beat. I'm gonna divy time between the two of them this weekend - and enjoy the hours of roguelike gameplay I have in store.
Chocobo's Dungeon is excellent though... I'm really enjoying it. I plan to have at the very least 10 to 12 hours in by the time the weekend is over.

Well, I really want to get this game, but I'm not sure if I should get it now.
$50 doesn't come easy for me. I want some recommendations before I buy this.
Anyone?

If I'm not mistaken, the new chocobo game is actually only $40 retail, if that helps to sway your decision. Personally I've grown a bit tired of Square-Enix lately, so I'm going to hold off and wait for news on the Wii Crystal Chronicles game.

Got Galaxy when Amazon had that sale. Up to 45 stars and debating whether or not to go for the full 120. Also, that image gave me a great FF VII vibe, is the game at least similar in combat?
