E308: XSeed localizing Game Center CX DS game, Populous DS
XSeed's list of E3 announcements just came in, featuring super awesome surprises! First, they've somehow gotten the U.S. publishing rights to Namco Bandai's Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou, the DS fake-retro-game collection based on the TV show! This winter, the company will release it in North America as Retro Game Challenge, which actually fits in nicely with the Retro Game Master title used for the American debut of the show. They've also announced a localized release of Populous DS for this fall. The announcement provides official confirmation of U.S. releases for both Korg DS-10 and Avalon Code, as well. Still no Steal Princess, but we can't muster up any outrage about that right now.

This is the most awesome bit of news I've heard all week.

I wonder how much localization this game will require in order for it to be "releasable" in English? I think I'd really prefer they keep the spirit of the game, and keep as much japanese content as possible... but that probably won't be an option will it :\

I have the Japanese release already and it is awesome so I am excited by this news and will be interested what it will be like when it is released here.

They'd better not screw this up!

I hope that this will be the start of XSeed becoming a potential second Atlus. If they could eventually release most of the noteworthy things that get skipped over by other companies, that'd be one of the best things to happen to us niche gamers in a long time.
Admittedly, I'm pretty antsy that things like SRW:OG DS, Flower, Sun, and Rain, and ASH haven't had any announcements yet.
